If you go to the right store they'll buy them for good money. I remember hearing once they go for $100.

Look guys, Pokemon is the bomb. Agreed? Good. There is nothing wrong with collecting/trading/playing the card game, even when you're 20. Compare it to collecting comic books, or even playing video games.
Pokemanz iz teh gayz!
I don't see anything homosexual about it.
Don't be bold... be italian.
Collecting pokémon at age 17 is perfectly normal, I know people in their thirties who play pokémon on the DS so why shouldn't us hardcore pokémon fans play the game anymore. Besides, my previous GF thought pokémon was awesome since I introduced it to her. So you could say that it attracts girls as well...
Well, if he's a good collector, like really into it, it's cool, because then it is a hobby. If he's one of those wannabee-collectors who does it mainly for the... Heck of it, it's not cool.

This 'friend' of yours wouldn't happen to be you, would it?
No he isn't me but I do play the games still, just got a DS today to play Pearl again as my old one broke.
If he was me I'd state it as I think there's no shame in it.
