Ah well. Thanks anyway!

I guess so. But I still <3 my PCs.

At 2/11/08 12:53 PM, OneWhoListens wrote: Man, working with Flash 1 - sorry, I mean "FutureSplash Animator" - is haaaaard. It took me ten minutes just to get tweening - I mean, "interpolating" - down. Getting there, though.

Same here - tweening is hard, but possible. In fact, it is possible to animate well with it.

At 2/11/08 03:19 PM, Yhtomit wrote: Hey, I'm gonna download the 30 day trial of Flash 1. Every part is 25 seconds yeh? Okip. If I make a part then I'll send it. If I don't then, oh well, no biggy. I don't really care what music part mine gets set to.

No, every part is 15 seconds, though longer, generic animations are fine, as I can sprinkle those throughout.

At 2/11/08 03:25 PM, Skaijo wrote: I'm in.

But let me ask the obvious question here:

Q. You mentioned 'Music'. What is the song?
A. The answer's just a jump to the left... And a step to the right...
Is that actually a song title? Or are we not sure if we can import audio yet. If not, I'll be just as happy to animate any 10 long random scene and just email you what I came up with.
At 2/11/08 03:30 PM, Skaijo wrote: Ha, I posted too soon without reading everything. That makes me Today's Fool x2.

I'll call the 1st spot. I can send the peice to you within two weeks as soon as I get confirmation that the spot is mine.

(If I'm too late for #1, any earliest one next is fine by me also) <3

#1 is free!

At 2/11/08 05:05 PM, chickendance333 wrote: just save it as a futuresplash file then upload it onto flash CS3 or 8

No, I want all .spa's emailed to me. If you want to show off your animation, you can import a .spl (what Flash 1 exports as) in Flash CS3 or Flash 8 and export it as a .swf, but I need a .spa file emailed (PM me for my email) to double check it WAS done in Flash 1.

It's really tricky. The ineffectiveness of everything is really frustrating. I really suggest taking on the tutorials available in the Library menu!

I'm basically animating one of the opening scenes to an animation I'm about to complete using Flash 8. Most of it takes place in a classroom and has the Flash 1 Only theme present throughout.

What's everyone else planning/attempting?

I agree! Try them beforehand, it'll help!

I'm just having 'Let's' 'Do' 'The' 'Time' 'Warp' 'Again' crash down seperately, and make it look awesome.

And possibly a random dancing Clock, if I feel so inclined.

Speaking of animating, I need to finish up my part soon...

Whiplash - No, it doesn't. And gotcha, 3rd Spot...

Also, those links show up error icons from 98 - if those are what you want, sure, they should be fine.

fiff? What's that? And that's a fairly good idea. Though polish your orignal animation quite a bit.

Still hammering it out.

I'm trying to recreate a scene that I've done using for an upcoming animation in Flash 8. I just learned how to pull off a tween (or interpolation) today. ; >

If not enough people join in time, are you planning on cropping the .mp3, or keeping the .spa in hand and simply extending the deadline?

Has that whole thing been done in Flash 1? If so, EPIC.

I'll reveal what I'm doing - you know at the start of Rocky Horror, how there are those red lips? I'm trying to animate a version of that to the lyric, "Let's do the time warp again!" Methinks it'll be some major frame by frame, though.

Well, if anyone is much later their trial will run out anyway :P

I'm about 4 seconds into my part, still getting used to the differences in the program. Of course, I'll probably get fustrated and end up completely re-doing it because I'm not happy with it x]

But seriously, that shouldn't be too much of a problem and its is our fairest bet. I'm not sure how your planning on importing these files to a compatible format for NG, but so long as get the .spa's and .spl's, you should be fine, right? We both know that Flash 1 exports can be opened with IE, so maybe an .avi is available as an option. If not let me know and with some instructions, I'll be happy to help you out any way.

Flash 8 will open those files, I think. Then you simply export as a .swf .

What? No way. :O That's pretty cool.

Hmm, so Scalene would still have to deal with library naming issues then since some of our symbols or tweens might be named the same way, huh?

It takes time - and yes, you will. My parents are worried about the time I'm spending looking at lips (then trying to redraw them...)

Yes, the Flash 8 method is the plan. And there may be library naming issues - something I did not think about. Please change all objects you use to <yourname>_ObjectName - Mmkay? I'll double check it for you later, though.
