I was at work today, and my boss Colline comes up to me. It was me, her, Shannon, and Sarah working, she approached me, with my resume in her hand as said "Scott, are you sure you filled out all of your employment history?" I froze, and i knew she was referring to June to August of 2007. I marked that i was employed at the time, but didn't state where i worked. So i confessed to her, and i am confessing to you. I was a male stripper.
At first, they thought it was a joke, but i told them everything. It started back in May, when i ran into my friend Danan, who i met at Frightworld Haunted House, when i worked there during halloween. We met for coffee, and he told me all about his new job at "The Lions Club". He was making really good money, but the club wasn't doing so well, so they were looking to hire new people. He offered me the job, and i took it. At the time, i was in college, and needed money.
I didn't start stage work until mid early June. First, i had to get in shape. I met with Darren, one of the workers there, and he helped me get my "Dancer's physique". I went to the gym 5 times a week, for 3 weeks, and i really felt great! I looked good, and i was taking better care of myself. So, he taught me all the basics of working on the stage, and it was acutally really fun. It was a womens exclusivly club, so we didn't have to worry about getting hit-on by gays (no offense).Working there taught me alot, and i have alot more respect for stage entertainment and single moms.
So, after telling my boss and co-workers that i was a stripper, the rest of the day was really, weird. I have absolutly no regrets, and i made lots of money doing it. I guess some people find this type of profession "different".
