btw on yours did you use a vector program, or just photoshop? cause it looks nice.. although i think i had my photoshop settings wrong...

sorry to double post, but i just realized the pixle settings i had for the first picture were 16 bits, and i just changed it to 32 bits... big difference. damn i feel dumb... oh well to the next one..

I've been considering a subscription to Heavy Metal for quite a while now, and am really excited about trying to make a photorealistic pic. Also, not to be a dick, but I wish you hadn't encouraged tracing and overpainting to that extent in the tutorial.
Now we're just going to get a bunch of traced pornography with skirts and guns slapped on...
Reference is a good learning tool, but tracing and overpainting photos is going a little overboard for a contest (unless of course, you take your own reference pictures).

Yeah, the songs suck. He told me once that he tries to make the music fit the theme of what he's doing though, and for the most part he doesn't a good job with that. Just turn your sound off if you don't like it.

Yeah the quote thing is fucked up right now. Anyways, you don't have to put all the details, but it gives extra points :P Also it's an extra challenge to place your figure properly so it doesn't hide too much of the title.
