A pretend cover for Heavy Metal : The Illustrated Adult Fantasy magazine!

Whaaaaaaaaaa? It's a long-standing sci-fi oriented comic-filled monthly magazine dedicated to stories involving lots of violence, gore and nudity and featuring cover art by some of the most talented fantasy illustrators of all time such asLuis Royo, Boris Vallejo, Simon Bisley, Enki Bilal, Juan Gimenez and tons more!

You will notice that semi-naked women are a standard of what they have featured on their cover for 30 years!

what: DESIGN A COVER FOR THIS MAGAZINE!

RULES:

- It must match more-or less the proportion of the magazine itself,

i.e. vertical format
10 inches high by 8 inches wide

or, using the 700 pixel tall image limit for this forum:

700 pixels tall, 560 pixels wide

- It has to have at least one hot chick on it. It can be an alien chick, a robot chick, a lizard chick. Whatever.

- It has to be SAFE FOR WORK ( no exposed nipples or exposed...well.. you know.. )

TIPS:

- The covers are usually painted and photorealistic, so while we certainly don't hold anyone to their crazy-ass quality standards, try to stay away from the more super-cartoony made-in-Flash look! Experiment! Go buy some paint or even wooden pencils would do the job! Of course the only really important rule is BOOBIES.

- You don't have to write anything on it but feel free to do so and lay it out like the actual magazine! Here's the logo if you want it: http://500bestsongsever.122mb.com./heavy metal.html

- It doesn't have to be in color, but it better be damn nice if it's not!

- I encourage you to feature FANTASY and SCIENCE-FICTION elements, as well as violence. Your final image should be "ridiculously badass and sexy", like This or this. Like the movie Barb Wire. Note the emphasis on "ridiculous" here...

- Strongly encouraged to use REFERENCE IMAGES for drawing women. I think you know how to find pictures of attractive women in various states of undress. YOU CAN EVEN TRACE! Woah? Really? Yes, go ahead. But be warned that implies you won't copy an existing fantasy work, and that you will ADD a LOT to the tracing of your model. Also, if you're not careful to put as much care into the rest of your image as you did in your tracing, it will show instantly and will be butt-ugly.

- No 100% photo montage bullcrap.

- Take your time. I know you want to show us your drawing as soon as possible, but just stick to posting "works in progress" in the discussion thread until you're sure you've improved it as much as you can! You have WEEKS to do this. Out of all the contests, this is the one I expect to see the highest caliber of artwork.

PRIZES:

1st Place: $200 + Shirt + Stickers + 5 "Heavy Metal" magazines from the 80s
2nd Place: $100 + Shirt + Stickers + 2 random "Heavy Metal" magazines
3rd Place: $75 + Shirt + Stickers + 1 random "Heavy Metal" magazine
4th Place: $50 + Shirt + Stickers + 1 random "Heavy Metal" magazine
5th Place: $25 + Shirt + Stickers + 1 random "Heavy Metal" magazine

The magazines are meant for 18+, so if the winners are underage, then the prize will be passed onto the next person :O The magazines will be sent by ME and not NG. Also I'm sorry in advance that they smell like pot, I bought them in some hippy shop.

And as always, shirts and stickers to a bunch of other people.
