Dang, should've seen this thread before I submitted my two best songs. If i'd known it could take _months_ to be approved i WOULD have actually submitted some work in progress.
Is my only solution to start a new user or can i resubmit in some other way? (assuming i don't want to spend the next month waiting)
do the mods actually pm you if they are not sure if the music is yours? i have tons of older versions of my songs that could prove i'm the original maker...
you're approved

In the http://www.newgrounds.com/audio/submit.p hp page you should just have a giant banner that announces it may take anywhere from days to months to get approved for first submissions.
Yeah, I agree to that, it should be more visible too. The rules to submit also needs to be brushed up and made clearer, it's not easy for new users to understand that there's some thread/newspost somewhere that holds all important info... But the info that do exist sums shit up, and in 95% of the bans, people haven't even read through that, and submit Linkin Park. Seriously, there's so many people submitting Linkin Park it stopped being hilarious ages ago. urgh.
As I recall my first spam submission years ago was approved instantly.
Not sure why..
i think mods were much more lenient back then, and possibly had less knowledge and experience of modding overall. or it could just have been a mistake. we're harder today, and have greater knowledge of what's DUPLO, what's stolen etc. Not to mention the amounts of artists that needed approval say two years ago was perhaps 5/day, now it easily can exceed 20 new/day.
