why is it that its ok to be a femminst (pro woman and against men) but its not ok to be chauvenist (pro man against women) or even to be equalitist(both sides equal). i mean if a man wore a shirt that degrades women its a huge up roar, but the other way around its no biggie. and why is it ok for ricky martin to pour wax on a naked women in his videos but christina cant dance in motorcycle chaps and roll around in the shower. men dance around in videos no shirts on but a woman in a bikini top for her video is a no no. same goes advertising, men no shirts no fuss, women in swim suits all of a sudden the world is gonna end

Naked boobies are aparently very, very, naughty things that tend to pander to people's purient interest. As for the double standard, yeah, I know, it sucks. But what can you do about it? Calmly walk up to a person wearing a "Men Suck" teeshirt and explain to them that their clothing is offensive, could you please go home and change? Right. All you can really do is suck it up, ignore it and hope society matures in about 30 years.
The same thing goes for girls who wear teeshirts and necklaces with "Bitch" written in flowery, sparkly letters....

I think you mis-identify feminists a bit. There is nothing in feminism that says women over men. Sure there are some radical strains that put woment first but most of f'ism is about equality. That is what makes male chauvanism bad-- because chauvanism by definition places you above. There is a great deal of concern amoungst feminist thinkers regarding those militant thinkers who give the rest of the field a bad name. (Not too different than anyother political group and its radicals however).
The sexual/advertising double standards create a debate withing feminism too. trying to balance women exerting themselves in an equal way as men conflicts with the fact that a woman sexualizing herself places her in a sexual/reporductive role which devalues the womans individuality.
I'm all for equal exertion, but then again that means topless or nearly topless women, so maybe I'm biased.

The double standard I hate the most is for racism. White people can't hate blacks, but blcks can despise whites without being persecuted. Pisses me off sometimes. But that's a whole other ball of wax.
Not that I'm racist or anything like that.

I agree with you totally. I'm all for blacks having equal rights for jobs, lifesytles, tax, marriage, you name it. But I can't stand it when black people continually accuse me of being racist when I use the word 'negro.'

Lets face it, minorities just have too much power per capita.
I miss the good old days when if you didn't fit in with the standard definition of "upstanding citizen", you were treated like shit.
What this world needs is homogenization.
(to whit, no words for the different races or sexes)
My band Sin City ScoundrelsOur song Vixen of Doom
HATE.
Because 2,000 years of "For God so loved the world" doesn't trump 1.2 million years of "Survival of the Fittest."

Or simply no weight to the words.
That will make things easier.
"Look, it's a Dachshund!"
"My Wiener dog is so much better."
...would become...
"Look, it's a dog."
"My dog is a dog too."
Food for thought. Not very good food; probably about as tasty as public school lunch. But food nonetheless.
Cheers,

yea i know what you mean. and you know what, sometimes women shouldnt have equal rights. you know why? cuz theyre not equal. now im not sayin all of the time, but there was a case recently, where a woman wanted to be a firefighter, but they wouldnt let her become one because she couldnt pass the tests. well she called this bitch feminist attourney, and guess what, they were forced to let her become a fire fighter despite the fact that she wasnt phyiscally qualified. FACT: men have more muscle mass than women. theyre just born that way. girls need to relax sometimes and leave things alone. any other situation that doesnt involve stuff like that, im all for equality. i think that women getting payed less than men for the same job is bullshit, but sometimes i think women push it wayyy to far.

I think women definately overuse the sexist excuse. And I remember this girl flipping out and calling me prejuduced in my english class last year; just because I made a jewish joke. It was a pretty old joke: "Whats the difference between jews and frozen pizza?", "Jews dont scream when you throw them in the oven." Then after she started calling me racist because I make black jokes, and I once said I dont like black people. She was pretty dumb if she didnt realise I was joking.

But, see, racial jokes are tasteless.
Are you prejudiced? Your behaviour would incline one to think so, if that's all they have to go by.
Actions speak louder than words. If you don't want to be perceived as racist, don't make racial jokes. Simple as that.

ShubNiggurath.

I just want to say I fully support the likes of christina aqulara, maraih carrey and beonce knowles showing women how to be strong and independant and that they have the right to choose to dress like giant sluts. These are women who fucked up the whole ideal. Like I said before I support a lot the ideals of what feminists fight for but its the hateful ones who give the movement a black eye. Just the same as the ones who just use it to sound smart and justify selling themselves. But your going to find that in any cause.

There are better ways of pissing them off than being a coldhearted ballsucking bastard, you know? Didn't know if you were aware of that or not, so I did you the favour of pointing that out.
Simply being honest at all times will piss off a fuckload more people, and still retain some of that integrity of character you seem to shed so aimlessly.
Racism fucking sucks, and isn't funny. Period.
