Hey I drew up this concept sketch for an upcoming movie playing on the wizard of oz.

Any comments or suggestions to make this character better?

I really can't think of any tips to make it better, I think it's great the way it is.

Woo, looking good, creepy. Reminds me of the Triangle Head from Silent HIll. The white text is a bit in the way though, heh, for people with photoshop knowledge it really doesn't have much meaning either.

Well that's why I'm on here what are way to make him look more tin, but it still being practical for real life application?

Personally, I really don't like his mask. It's way too bulky. And are the chains going over his head, or just ears? Because I don't think his ears alone could support the mask.
Anyway, the goggles are great!

Umm... how about some hair? A Mohawk? Something that would suit that thug (he looks like one!) A motorbiker, that's what he looks like!

I'm assuming the characters have to be human, and only hint at Oz characteristics.

I think I metal Punker with lots of piercings, and maybe even a cap with metal bits would work.

That's good I think that could be really implemented well.

Hmm.
Maybe a vent-grille on the side of the mask, so that he can still talk through it...
And I'm sure that the metallic reverberation of the mask would give his voice a certain "metallic twang".

Maybe a few metal plates stitched to the skin? Or, if you don't want to go to that sort of extreme, some piercings would probably work just as good. (Nuts and bolts style piercings would look very nice.)

Grey eyes? (As in the iris), since the green doesn't add to the metallic feel.

Some rust clinging to his skin or other metal parts, like scabs... It would certainly add some more colour to the character.
Or maybe some rusty metal poking up from inside his skin like some sort of compound fracture...

Er... Tatoos of spanners, cogs, nuts and bolts? Or maybe angle-grinders and circular saws, if that's your thing.

Maybe make one of the lenses of his goggles some sort of telescopic image-enhancing device? (If you wanted to go for some hi-tech metal as well as the basic 'chunky' metallic appearance)

A swiss-army knife style robotic limb?(Something along the lines of the one that the cannibal dude from the Judge Dredd movie had. I know that his limbs aren't depicted in this picture, but I just thought it was worth suggesting while you were taking suggestions.)

One ear missing, replaced with a small ear-horn? (they look something like the horn/trumpet on top of really old gramophones.)

A hole in his cheek, which shows a metallic jaw and teeth inside his mouth?

Diver's boots? They're big, they're heavy, and they're made of metal.

A random vent somewhere on his body... Like on his temple, or his solar plexus.

A barcode? I know that it isn't necessarily a 'tin man' thing, but it's certainly along the lines of metal/machine....

Er.... That's all I can think of for now, but I'll maybe write some ideas down in my next class.

I'm really sorry for double-posting, but another idea just came to me.

Metal tubes, pipes and hoses... For example, leading from his mask to some sort of gas-canister on his back... Or maybe tubes leading from his limbs to some sort of big, chunky artificial heart carried on his back....

He looks like he needs some sort of big, heavy piece of technology stuck onto his back...

Anyway, that's enough from me.... I'll shut up and let someone else speak now.

I think it's just the goggles! But the final draft is heading in a wierd way and may only slightly resmeble this.
