Left or Right???

I hear all this talk about Left and Right politics, Liberal vs. Conservative, Democrat vs. Republican. It drives me NUTS.

Everyone repeat after me: Just because someone else's views on politics, religion, or anything really do not match your own, does not make them wrong.

The left says the right controls the media and the right says the same thing???? So, who controls the media? I hear so much about "liberal media conspiracy" and "conservative fear mongering in the media". Again, please repeat after me: Just because someone else's views on politics, religion, or anything really do not match your own, does not make them wrong.

So, what is the solution you ask? TOLERANCE.

Religious tolerance from everyone will make the world more peaceful.
Political tolerance will make the world more bearable (PS. ANY form of government looks good on paper. Communism, Socialism, Democracy, Republic, Monarchy, even Dictatorship, but it is how it is enacted and run that makes a HUGE difference).

Just a little rant that I had to let out of my system.

Fair enough to what you said, but it just doesnt work like that.

Asking people to remain completely tolerant of others beliefs / views means asking them to keep a cool head about something they feel strongly about.

People get passionate and sooner or later the insults will fly.

The whole point of a party system is to affiliate yourself with a party that best matches your view points. I don't want to give a man/woman a standing ovation if I don't agree with them

Political Parties are perhaps the dumbest concept I have ever heard. It more or less states your inclination of any debate is bias and that you will most likely support your parties side.

You make a decision on an argument that hasn't begun.

Well, at least in Europe that's definitively the case - especially in Germany.
You just have to look at the broadcasts of them... phew... that's as far away from "neutral and objective" as Hitler was from "tolerant and modest". =|
