i need help with a chat forum or however you want to phase it. i want to make it where when you type something and hit enter it make one of my websites chacters do it and i want to make them were they can shoot each other and stuff. but im fresh new at stuff like that so i need some help if you can help pm me or reply dont reply if your just going to trash this topic please

no i want elglish but i think it would be alsome. how boring is typing then words pop up. we will use newgrounds for an example and its charters well after you pick the one you want when you type something he says it in a voice thats hes had in his flash vidoes. then it would make it more intersting. the whole weapons idea is extra while you were talk you could pick weapons to use to destroy the other charcter while you talking tothe, . after you kill him he picks another charcter.

Also there is no way you're going to do this so either pick up a book on C++ and come back in 10 years or pay someone to make it for you, you'll be looking at about $1,000,000 easily if you wanted text to speech and for a company to make you a mmorpg and servers etc so 2bh just give up

What's the link for this thing that NGs is doing? I want to see what you're talking about because I've never seen that on NGs before. Also what you're talking about seems like it would take a long time to do/be complicated. Are you talking about something like http://www.runescape.com or http://imvu.com?

There's nothing there right now because they're creating a chatroom from scratch! As I told you in the pm that you sent to me, it would be very difficult to do; take a lot of time, effort, money, and a lot of people to develop it. I also highly doubt that your server can handle the load of a chat system of this type.

They're doing the chat in Flash so you'll have to learn XMLSockets in Flash and have a Socket Server running. You can't do the actual Socket Server in Flash though, so you'll have to look up Java or Ruby also.
For the Flash part you'll have to learn ActionScript. There are many tutorials for that, even on a forum here (Flash forum, ofc). If you search NGBBS for 'AS:Main' you'll find the AS:Main thread with loads of ActionScript tutorials. I haven't read it through completely but I'm pretty sure there's a XMLSocket tutorial there somewhere (although it might be called something else).
For learning Java I don't know if there's any good tutorials on NG but you can search Google and you'll probably find some good tutorials.

I think you're fine for now. I like the design. Maybe a little more color, though. Just having red and grey is kinda boring. Maybe some brighter colors. Green, blue, some white?

Possibly think about sentence structure a bit more before typing. Also you make me look like a pro. Id suggest you learn javascript as a lot of chat room clients are made in that. www.audiogrounds.com has a javascript chat room.

Honestly, when I see people type like this, I picture some kid looking up at the ceiling randomly banging on his keyboard until he has a wall of text, then trying as hard as he can to click the "Post It!" button without reading anything he just said.
