I know what you mean, I see all this great artwork go through the portal, some don't get enough recognition, and then this one gets put on a pedastal. It's not bad, but c'mon, so many other artists put forth things that are truly artisticly valuable here.

But then there are people like TheRealShadman, who caters to the audience AND makes great art at the same time.,

thats actually pretty simple, or at least to me it is.
it's all about the context it's in.
I own the "Playboy: 50 Years of Cartoons" collection, and honestly, in my opinion only about 25% of the cartoons rare really super sexually driven. most of the others are actually witty, funny, and well put together.

Ok I think I have an answer for this that will hopefully satisfy you. There are going to be a lot of generalities but hopefully you get the idea.

It can be argued that all porn is art. And on an essential level it is. Whether its drawn, painted, photographed, filmed, its art. Because those are artistic mediums.

However for the sake of the art portal we say Porn is not allowed. What we mean by that is if the sole intention is masturbation and arousal of the viewer then its porn. Like I've said before if it can be used as whacking material, but that wasn't the only goal of the artist then chances are we will leave it alone.

If you are asking because you are planning on submitting something that you are unsure what it will be viewed as, you can either PM a preview of it to a mod, or post it in the porn art thread and ask there (because its probably the only thread will really really adult stuff is allowed currently).

If you are asking because you want to flag certain pieces, but don't want to look like an idiot if you get it wrong, then its best to just not bother and leave the piece alone. Currently I don't think whistle points are gained or lost when flagging stuff (correct me anyone who knows otherwise) so the worst case scenario if you do flag something and its not rule breaking is you look a bit foolish for a second and that's it, the piece will be kept and no harm done.

Hopefully that will put an end to this discussion at least for a little bit.

You don't need to be asked to be scouted anywhere.

Q: How do I get scouted?

A: Do NOT ask to be scouted! Do not ask in the Forums or send the staff a Private Message about being scouted as these will only hurt your chances. Just submit at least four pieces of quality art and be patient, someone will find you! Every single person with art in the Art Portal has the ability to scout others, so there will be a lot of people with their eyes peeled for great submissions.

ok i got scouted by the same person as before the reboot, but now when i click it it says that they have lost their scouting proveledges, unfair much, i got the invite and then they lost their scouting priveledges, i should still be able to get scouted
