That sure was cool of me to ask a question and then check out for a couple of days, lol. Sorry.
On the subject of payed work and collaboration, I'm glad things run smoothly. Generally everywhere else, if you're not setting ground rules and basically setting up a work environment where your clientele is coming to you, you get fucked pretty hardcore. Not to mention that sometimes there doesn't have to be a middle man involved; deviant art's point system is just as insulting and unsustainable as it's always been. I just hope a lot of these budding artists know to get payed first, get payed with fucking money, then perform your agreed upon task. I've learned that lesson too many times.
On the subject of collabs falling apart, I know where that's coming from too. Not at all from the perspective of any type of work common to newgrounds, but I've constantly been trying to work with friends to make comic books and musical projects happen. And of course it always starts cool, but once the adrenaline wears off, the reality of "I was the only one who was truly devoted to this" sets in, and it sort of just dissipates from there. And not to sound egotistical, but at the end of the day, I would usually just be in a room full of idea guys, and I'm the only one with any actual drive to make the thing happen. Which is a huge bummer, because I love collaborating with other artists, but it's always so much more efficient to just bite the bullet and do everything yourself. Not so much with things like game design, and other forms of media that require big scale teams. But even game design, I feel like every person you're adding, you're cutting the original vision in halves. Perhaps that's a bit cynical of me.
