Question of the Day: Let's say Luis or someone else starts up another Sketchbook Tour. How interested would you be in participating? Do you feel like that the modern day NG community could pull off what it did in the 2006-2009 Sketchbooks? I'm just curious if this type of project could ever be revived...

I would. I feel like it'd get a good amount of activity.

I would love to participate in it, but I just don't think there would be enough of a following as the previous years did.
I was happy to have made it in the last tour.

Hey, guys. I'm not sure if anybody really remembers me, but I used to participate around the forums a decent bit. It's been about a year since the last time I really tried to be active, though, and I just haven't been on this site much.
How has everything around these parts been lately?

It's a sad night when Kinsei posts about drinking and not even one word is misspelled.

It probably sucks......

I liked it... it had strong parts and it was put together well. If I had one complaint I would say it lasted a tad long.

So now that I'm a design student, I've been asked to get most updated versions of all the Adobe software for my classes. While it's easy to just get that "one finger discount", if you're a student or have a sibling or something who you can use their studentness for you, they're selling a 20 dollar a month subscription to every program Adobe has to offer. You also get like 20 gigabytes of cloud storage, which is pretty cool, but not totally necessary. If you're not a student or member of a teaching facility, it's 50 dollars a month. Also, you get free upgrades to the newest versions, so if you're paying full price anyways for the master suite or whatever (although who does that?), you're still saving money by the time the next iteration rolls out.

man that thing's been out since cs6 was launched ;p it was good of them to offer a cheaper price since they realized 95% of the users pirate their suite due to their high prices

Hey, anyone know if we are having a pumpkin carving contest this year?
And if we are, can I start early. I have my piece lined up and wanna get it churned out tonight/tomorrow. I have a carving demonstration that I have to do for some folks on tuesday, and I need a display piece to show while I'm carving a new one.
Just figured I'd ask since I haven't seen anything on the calender or in tom's post.

Well, I asked Tom, and he said he was going to hold on this year.
The only head start on it I would suggest is maybe early planning. You don't want to carve it up now and have it fall apart by the contest time.

Well, I was hoping to get it done and get my photos of it taken. Either way, I don't have much choice. I gotta have a display piece. If I have to, I'll carve another. I have a contest with friends around the 30th anyway.
