jeez, it takes kind of a while to get an audio submission approved eh? I submitted my first audio submission last night at 9, and as we speak, I'm still getting the "Awaiting approval" screen :P weird.

Oh jeeshwa, you don't even know the half of it.
Last I knew, there are about 500 submissions still awaiting approval. It'll be at least a few weeks before they get to yours.

what dah helllllll. xDD well, my art's more important to me, so i suppose i really don't mind that. But I am starting to get frustrated at how badly this website is showing its age. It's becoming so dated. And with websites like deviant art, it's no wonder no one goes here anymore :/ they really need to get crackin' on some updates.

also, wasn't that newgrounds chat room thing announced like, 4 years ago? lmao. and ever since it's just been a coming soon tab.

scratch that, after i said that I checked up on it, and apparently there's a flash chat room now. But all the comments are like "yeah bro, it doesn't work right, fix it". I had similar results.

That's absolutely fucking hilarious. I would pay money for that, and then I would carry it to places and show off the wonderful joke that is it.

one of the buttons on my intuos4 pen doesn't work properly on my new computer for some reason.
it happens to be the "right click" comand, which is VERRRYYYY useful in sketchbook express.
what do? D:

here's basically a step by step of how I work:
1. rough lineart and edits/touchups in sketchbook express
2. import into paint tool sai, set opacity to 50%
3. refined lineart on new layer (above base image)
4. delete original layer with rough line art on it, add layers for color.
5. organize colors by object using folders (ex. if i was drawing a picture of spiderman vs. green goblin, spiderman would get a folder, green goblin would get a folder, etc.)
6.one major color per layer. obviously, the color layers go under the lineart layer. background is always the last layer, but the other layer's positions don't matter depending on how you colored it.

hope that helps :)

Slightly if I had paint tool SAI and sketch book express. ;( but thanx for the heads up, how would you go about layering you just put new layer? Or duplicate? I'm such an epic fail.

I think there are different techniques. Depends also on what you want to do.

If you want to colour in lineart you should add a layer below the lineart and simply add colour.

As for shading, I think most people add a new layer, set it to multiply and draw on that.

I add a new layer, reduce the opacity as much as I want or I feel necessary and draw the shades on it.

Sometimes I select the piece I want to shade, blur the selection add a new layer (Gimp keeps the selection), set the brush opacity to a very low number like 5 and start adding the shading stroke by stroke. That gives me some control and the shade is not like one solid colour or gradient but has some variation.

The way people draw their stuff also depends on what they draw.

I can only speak for myself and my way is not the most efficient to be honest. lol

Thanx I'll keep that in mind for the next time. I'll use it as one of the 1st techniques I'll use. I just put The piece up in the art portal. Sadly all on the same layer and GIMP almost crashed on me lol saved it in time. So I just called it finished.

Something like Megashark vs Giant Octopus, so no.
Personally, I think it's slow, dull, and uninspiring.
Rather doubtful? More like rather doleful.

So I went ahead and said Fuck it and ordered the medium intuos4. And I know you can redeem some programs or so...and I just wanted to know what programs you think it'll be best to go with? Just a few suggestions if you don't mind. Thanx in advance!
