Considering nothing happened? This was genius. Of course, if the world really had ended, then it might not have been such a good idea.

Wonder how long it is until the Rapture-enthusiasts are disillusioned?

Depends on the likelihood of whoever's going to walk in on you at the time:
- Your brother.
- Your girlfriend.
- Your mother.
- Your ancestors.
- A heavenly choir.
- The four horseman of the apocalypse.
- The Devil
- Jesus.

In a world where we all had super powers, would you be a hero, villain, anti-hero, or what? And what kind of hero, villain or what have you would you be?

I'd be a villain, the kind of villain like Ozymandias of Watchmen, where my intentions are pretty good.

I'd be an anti-hero, because I'm already a sarcastic ass normally.

If I was in a tv show or movie or comic, I'd probably make a lot of fourth wall jokes.

I am already the evil Captain Carrion. I find the dead bodies of animals and my pet carrion crows crawl their way inside the animal;s body and zombify it. Then the animal becomes a member of my awesome air-ship made out of a dead whales body.

Awesome sauce. too bad my buddies at the party wouldn't let me try and go get myself killed by being fucking epic.

Looks like something you might find on a magic card.

Strange thing to ask, but I was looking at this piece and, horrible awe and depression aside, I noticed that the person who made it doesn't seem to know very much about the character that she spent 410 hours pixellating. Being a horrendous geek, I wanted to write a review pointing out inconsistencies about what she says/depicts, but I decided against it because I have no actual technical criticism to offer and would end up just geeking out a bit and then praising the thing. I was wondering, though, what you guys think:

How bad is it to make a review based on the idea behind a piece or of the author instead of on the actual image?

Not bad at all. Intent is a part of art, isn't it?

The piece looks perfect to me only because I have never played WOW.

It is very nearly perfect (and is most certainly some of the best pixel art I have ever seen), I'm just letting a few little things bug me, mostly about the armor that she decided to omit and the comments that she makes about the character. What bugs me in actuality, though, is that I simply cannot understand how you would spend such an ungodly amount of time creating an image character that you know relatively little about. It just seems strange.

This depends. If the entire piece relies on the idea behind it, then yes, critique the idea (ie. Duchamp's "the fountain").
If the idea is a major part, but technical aspects are also part of the overall effect (ie. Andy Warhol screenprints) then critique the idea mainly, but dont forget to mention the technical aspects.
If the idea is present but the main focus is technical than focus more on the execution than the underlying meaning (ie. pre-raphaelite art), but feel free to mention the meaning.
If there is a flimsy idea and nearly all of the focus is technical than dont bother mentioning the idea and just focus on the technical (ie. hyperrealist art).

In the case of this piece I would say it falls into the last two categories. He wanted to draw a character, but then decided to modify it. Its a loose tribute at best, no need to get anal about minute details that no one really cares about. When Fernando Botero draws a fat mona lisa, you dont attack him saying "but the mona lisa isnt fat" its his stylistic rendition.

If in the comments he mentioned something that wasn't accurate, who gives a shit, its a fictional character anyway and its not hurting the actual piece is it?
