Hey guys. I need to learn moar about coloring. I want to know how to make something look so amazing just with coloring. I mean I think I'm lost if I remove all my hatching on my works.

Just as an idea, why don't you try cross-hatching with colours? On like, multiple levels? Just sticking it out there. You don't need to create the illusion of detail (that's where you're getting at, right) with cross-hatching to create a good, simple art piece.

Also, anyone having any tips for continuing to post and all that? I know I've only been here for a few months, but everyday typing becomes more of a bore. I have a habit of having a short-attention span.
Perhaps I should try an intricate combination of heroin and drunkeness to boost my activity levels, but I was hoping for other alternatives before I turned to anything like that. Do they sell Plasmids at your local stores?

I just rely on good old crack-cocaine.

Your probably right there, I should try it. Although it will be much of a challenge considering I only have my trusty mouse by my side. Maybe I should buy a tablet? Nah, that's too expensive.

Same here, I get bored looking at the wall of text you people type in so I just "ask what the hell is going on".

Bad idea lol. You might end up dying.

They sell plasmids here. I don't know about your country though...

Woah, you've managed to do the art you do without a tablet? That's news to me, but I'd definitely suggest buying one - I've always wondered at the often low-quality cross-hatching you've done, and now I have an answer.

I don't expect anyone to read anything I post =3

That's the general idea. What's life without the art forum?

They place some crazy restrictions. It's crazy over-policed. I can't walk out of the store without being mugged, incinerated, shocked or otherwise. Once, was thrown out of the window with telekinesis before I get my hands on a vial.

Yes, I did all my colouring with a mouse, but the lines with a pen. Hatching with a mouse is too damn difficult.

I say life is a colorless lineart. LOL?

That's funny, there is a law that is something similar on my country, only they ban the purchase of antibiotics by a minor. What the hell.

Congrats to lundsy!

On a side note...take a look at the image below. It's the Art fortal front page as of now.
the two highlighted images are the same images, my and Mabelma's collaborative piece for the doubles. For some reason, one has a score of 4.5 while the other has 3.85.

...i don't know where I'm going with this, it just felt like a very odd thing.

My version seems to be full of pornography of one nature or another. In my defense, I actually haven't directly visited it for about a few months...

Basically the scores for art at Newgrounds don't accurately represent the quality of an art piece. I'm actually finding that the art portal scoring is quite similar to the audio portals just without the 0 bombing.

Each piece of art only gets like 10-20 votes usually which is just not enough.

True, it does seem the the more votes the more accurate to the public opinion. But it's really not anyone's fault, just lack of exposure really.
I mean 80% of people who come to Newgrounds are looking for flash.... or porn.... and the art portal is relatively unknown.
Even to this day I still get shocked looks when I mention that NG has an art section.
the Audio portal isn't much different with exposure either.
Hell, I'm guilty of only going to the audio portal only 2 or 3 times a month......
perhaps we should advertise more?

and attract more whiny dA people.... eh, I'll go unnoticed thank you very much...

I did some incredible lulling in the general direction of your art. Where'd you come up with something like that?

It's a portrait of ReNae and I meeting for the first time. Coming soon.

Also, in the 'Some account type thingy here.', there should be some contest ads and stuff there. Like in site news and stuff. This has probably been asked in the MK3 thread but jsjakdjassjkasdk.

Does anyone know how to make stickers? Say I want to make a large roll of a single image on some small stickers. Can I make them myself or is there a place I can have them made for cheap?

Response to Art Forum Lounge 2010-08-04 00:52:36

Kinkos, get the image to them and they will do the rest. I think... Atleast that's what my friend does for his fighting game tournaments.

You could go to store like Staples, Office max, or Office Depot and buy a few sheets of sticker paper to draw your own stickers on and then cut them out.
