Try substituting the cornflakes with cheerios.

Raisins and bran, sure.
Raisins and whiskey, possibly.
Bran and whiskey, no.

got a point, I hate it when it sets too long and the bran gets all soggy, the whiskey doesn't help either...

See, that's why cheerios are good. They have the right consistency and texture to absorb the right amount of whiskey without getting soggy.

oh I will..... I will....
and one day >:3 when their least expecting it..... I'll launch troll season
Muhahahahah
Maybe I should come back on here more than once every 24 hours or so to look at responses to stuff I post...
Anywho I actually know how to cook a variety of stuff, not very fond of microwaved or reheated food... And as to the cock-blocking lizard I could care less. Right now my stance on the opposite sex is that they be nothin but trouble, which has been reinforced by a long-building media influence along with past encounters. Gives me a headache just thinking about it.
Kinsei have you ever considered making ramen with whiskey? I wanna know whether or not that works out, for future reference.

... yeah thats not happening any time soon.
I lived for almost 4 months off ramen and cup noodles, and I must say I fixed them just about every whay you can from adding what fresh veggies I could scrounge up to buy, to eggs, seasonings, different meats, I tried stove top, microwave, traditional boiling water, even tried tons of new spices I never had before, but after having only that to eat, I can safely say if I don't see another bowl of that stuff until my loans are paid off, then it will be much, much, much too soon....
The sad part is that even I, who like to cook, will within the next year share that outlook with you. Woo!
Though no, I'm looking forward to college. I think a good part of that is just going to be getting away from my family... Yeesh...

how far you moving from home?
Will you be able to make it back easily incase of emergencies, holidays (aka "show up or your dead" ~ Love Mom") and so on?
It's not really any great distance or time away, only about 150 miles or 3 hours. So I'll be able to show up for holidays and stuff.
The dorms are a bit smaller than I imagined, so one of the larger changes other than oh everything is gonna be how much crap I share my bed with (no jokes please). I sleep on a queen with half of it covered in clothing, various electronics, three swords and a few large books. It's a comforting mound of dangerous materials to be mostly unconscious next to. I dunno where all that stuff is gonna go when I move, not to mention the rest of my room. Probably in boxes...

yeah I kind of went more than 3 hours away :P
I was also lucky enough to only have to share a one bedroom apartment with someone. That was bonus on student sponsored housing, down side though was the first set of housing I lived in was a little over a mile from the school, so I had to catch buses or ride my bike before I secured a car. The second place I moved to was pretty nice and across the street from the school. And although we weren't suppose to have any weapons or alcohol in our apartments, our RA's were pretty nice and had a policy of "If your room mate doesn't complain, and it's not out where we can see it during inspections, we don't care."
As for my Room back home.... yeah it got turned in to an office, and my stuff was boxed up and put in storage :P
now I have to sleep on a couch or my hammock wen I go visit... although the hammock I bought isn't too bad, kind of comfortable.
still a bitch to make that drive back there solo though :(
Well it's required that you spend your fish year in on-campus housing, so I won't have to walk far. And it's not so much that I'm concerned about my stuff going in boxes, I just don't want any of it disappearing in the garbage or to charity...
.
Yeah, but Wivern, you're not gonna bring your entire room up to school. You have to manage and prioritize what's important to bring up and what's best left behind.

so yeah, take your blow up doll and porn collection......
oh and your computer, and that should just about cover it :P

Came across something very disturbing today.
Ive been a fan of the musical artist Kenna for a long time now. Especially years and years ago when i first saw his music video for his song hellbent. I loved the video when i saw it and applauded it as one of the few good ones. Most music videos suck ass and are just random shots of the band playing coupled with pointless crap. But this one was spectacular in story and music. Every comment ive seen praises its originality.
Then i found this. Mark Osborne's "More". At first I was shocked that this guy took kenna's video and just threw some other music on it, i hate when people do that. But not one to jump to conclusions I did a bit of research.
Turns out Kenna duped everyone. "More" was made in 1998, won tons of awards, and is the original. "Hellbent" came out in 2001, and was aired and shown on various music video channels including MTV and complimented on its great music usage and video.
While I'm sure this isn't the first case of artists appropriating clips for use in their video, it is the first one I've seen to not give credit to the original piece, and use the ENTIRE PIECE. And what makes the sting so much worse is that Kenna is an artist who claims he strives for originality.
I feel cheated, that even those I admire so much still cant help but stoop to blatant theft. Its almost as if their isn't any true talent left in the world, or that there never was to begin with. the further i look into things that I thought were impressive or skillful generally reveal a cheating method or shortcut which devalues the talent and effort that went into it.

Wow Orn, that sucks.
I'm surprised that Kenna has gotten away with that for so long. I wonder why no one has called him on it in the past. you'd figure that those corporate big wigs would hear about this by now.
I think you might be being to hard on our boy Kenna. I too am a fan.
Kenna had to have paid Mark Osborne for use of it. And I guess I never heard him taking credit for its creation. So perhaps he should be lauded for bringing this piece of art to our attention. Kenna along with all artists (should) strive for originality. But he's a musician. Not a visual artist/director. So whatever he had created as a music video would have been more than likely someone elses work. When I hear a song on a Lexus commercial that I like I don't think the good people at Toyota made the song. I think you might have to fault the strong impression this video made on you (as it did me) and your own preconceptions about its origins. This video made me a fan of Kenna.
I can think of only one exception off the top of my head: Tool
At 5/2/10 06:32 PM, Occluded wrote: But he's a musician. Not a visual artist/director.
Im not expecting musicians to also create their own music videos, often times they hire directors or artists to do it for them. But its done for that song and that song alone, and done with the collaboration of the musician generally. Even if Kenna paid Osbourne, its impossible that this video was made for Kenna, whereas other musicians would commission an aritst to make their music video and give them the song.
What upsets me is that its just another case of the original going unoticed and uncredited and becoming popular in the wrong way. Its something that frequently happens with NG. the best largest recent example i can think of is Charlie the unicorn, it became popular via youtube, and only youtube, whereas Ng was the first place it exsisted and gets none of the benefits of it.
Mark may be happy that his video is now being seen more because of Kenna, but does it really matter if he gets nothing tangible out of it?

Hooray for 'More,' I love that film! I saw it way back in the day, at a film festival or some shit, I found it to be very inspiring. I'm a little surprised to see it used as a music video, I had no idea that happened.
It's a great short film, I recommend it to everyone here.... with the original score, of course. =]

Urgh, I'm stuffed. We threw a surprise party for my mom's birthday and we invited a bunch of family and friends over and we had catered food, and I ate a great deal and had 5 beers...
I think I've eaten more in this weekend (Fri-Sun) than I have in the last week prior to that (Fri-Thur).
On that note, I suppose I should let you guys know that I won't be here for the next week (you probably wouldn't have noticed anyway). I'm going to Wyoming... to go hiking... yeah. Totally.
Nice clothes are a bitch to get comfortable in, eh? I spent all day sitting in church for my brother's Confirmation. I wish I lived closer to Jonny, sounds like that would've been more fun. Then again, this splitting headache I've got wouldn't really be conducive to a fun time... That and I'm exhausted for some reason, and have to get up at 4:30am tomorrow to catch a 5:40 flight.
I should probably be packing, huh?
