The past couple of days, I did the greatest thing for my computer. I downgraded back to XP! I decided to give CS4 another shot, and everything works so damn smoothly now. Things were really frustrating with vista that I gave up on drawing in Photoshop and Flash for a while.

haha, i don't really have the problem with people asking me if i drew something, but that's largely because i tend to keep it to myself unless i'm showing it to another artist. I always feel awkward when confronted by a random person asking "How you do that?" or "Why you draw that crazy shit?" it's always more trouble than it's worth describing a process and i can never explain why i drew something.

Man i'm tired i'm banking on a snowday tommorow, but it's all okay i'm in a good mood because i have one vote for me in the awards, it made my day i feel loved

Dile was is an awesome artist, and it's a loss to the forum that he doesn't post here anymore. I never interacted with him on a personal level, though, unfortunately.

I joined just soon after Dile and new nothing about him. Then Neolight told me of him and I am amazed by his stuff. I miss him and didn't know him :(

My scanners sucks so iv been thinking about getting a Wacom Graphics Tablet but im not sure how good they are, does anybody have one or have some advice about them?

From what I've heard/been told/read/learned/experienced Wacom makes the best tablet peripherals. I have a (now ancient and no longer produced in it's current form) Wacom Graphire 3 and it still works great, but have upgraded to a Wacom Penabled Tablet PC. If you like to do computer art, but don't like the feel of using a mouse for it, definately get a tablet, and if you do, I would reccomend getting a Wacom.

The Official Tablet Thread has some info. Remember; bigger isn't always better, if you can try some out before buying do that to get a feel for it, see if you like using it and try out some different sizes. Good luck!

That's 9 x 12 inches

All tablets I can find are in paper sizes A4, A5, etc, etc.

Anyone know of any to this scale?
Preferably cheap?
Preferably from a UK source?

Yeah - I've had a goosey around there.
Usually it's only the tiny A5 ones. And I'd hate to have to limit myself to such a small area.

The reason I want these dimensions is because it's 1:1 with my monitor.

Does anyone here know about New Media? I'm thinking of switching my Graphic Design major to NM because I enjoy just doing digital drawing. I keep hearing that it's a lot of movie making and audio though (actually it's a bunch of crap for one major, which is why it's so confusing). I just don't think I want to go into GD.
