Are you saying this "WArt" thing is gonna be like a death star?!
Oh teh goddamn NOES!!
And I haven't even seen all the star wars movies yet!

Don't bother... seriously. Watch Star Wars (Episode IV: A New Hope) and the Empire Strikes Back and then DO NOT WATCH ANY MORE! There are horrors to behold if you watch any others. HORRORS! Like ewoks and pod races and terrible, awful, stomach-churningly bad "romance" scenes... oh the humanity.
This sig is 100% effective protection from all hexes, curses, evil spirits and bad karma. Guaranteed.

Return of the Jedi was hilarious though. But Empire Strikes Back is still the best one.

Well, if no one is going to call me out on it, might as well be me...
Oh, I'm afraid the Deflector Shield will be fully operational when your friends arraaaaiiiivvve...!
Is the correct quote...
RotJ is still lightyears ahead of the prequels. If you're out for more Star Wars Scooby Snacks play Knights of the Old Republic or Jedi Outcast.
And yes, WArt is actually my plot to gain internet dominance by secretly putting in sublminal messages in all submissions which will brainwash you into following my every command.
You didn't just read that.
Force-waves his hand in front of all of you.
Geek level in this thread just went up a dozen or so degrees, I like it.

Wait till I get a proper mic, I'll record a bunch of Star Wars voices just for you :D

cool, remember your a ninja so the sound should be out of sync like the old movies
the wart thing, haha wart, sounds a lot like the m.i.o.w that died prematurely, hopefully this does better, i need something to do
So, jumping in the new art/story talk;
I suggest that either way you are going to do it, short stories would be the aim... read some of tc boyle`s stuff, thats just great!
if your going to do it comic wise, id just call it the "Comic Collab"
If your going to do "draw a picture inspired by this story" id say; take any story regardlesss of wheter or not it is originally made for the thread.... but that might just be me...
I still think the storybook project was an awesome idea, that should be revived sometime.... it got a bit confusing towards the end.

sounds similar to the "contest" mind chamber did with the halloween story about that fish fellow...

or to the MIOW fishboy did...
I dont know... I cant help thinking there was a reason that the storybook project failed, other than the amount of work involved... something to do with poeple submitting stories, and other poeple choosing a story from that heap of 50 stories etc.
I'm hoping the storybook project will be given new life once the lit portal is introduced. It had a lot of potential... as I told RNNR... I just couldn't find a story that inspired me or fit what I was looking for. But that's just me.
As for the new idea... a thread of 'links' ain't gonna fly. You could do it the way I did the storybook lists... on your user page (news post). I'll tell you right now, it can be a bitch to keep updated, so maybe you could create a new account and give a few trustworthy people the login info to spread the workload out a bit.
Also... there's this M.I.O.W.

Hey everybody, downlaoded gimp today for kicks.
Ummm, could some one explain to me the point of the pepper brush? Just a regular image of a pepper, but it's a preset brush.
I don't get it, the crosshatching brush is nice though, gonna duplicate that in PS for sure.

Well...

when you make a new layer, it asks you for resolution, stuff you normally decide when opening a project, it's weird.
and the friggen pepper brush...

huh that is weird,
id doesn't change the Resolution for the entire file if you choose a different one, does it?

Dunno, just messed around with it for like 5 minutes, than started drawing things with the pepper brush

Hence the artists' involvement, it's an event for both writers and artists to submit work and get the ball rolling from either direction.
You wouldn't have to pick a story from the list, you could also contribute artwork to the cause.
As for work not being inspiring, well... I suppose that comes down to the writers'/artists' abilities.
I also dig JQ's idea of it being solely short stories, or in the least having a lower limit of 300 words.
Or maybe things could be divided into short stories and... poems for instance?

That was the idea, yeah. Though there's no real way of telling just how popular this is going to be, it's not my intention of going completely ballistic with it. Just a friendly, neighbourhood mash-up thread that gets updated every once in a while.
If it goes south, it'll go south and I'll be sure to notify everyone. If it goes dark, it'll go dark and I'll be sure to do the exact same... while performing harakiri as well. I sadly don't know anyone who can chop off my head so no seppuku for me :(
Also... there's this M.I.O.W.
This is for writers and artists alike and meant for original work, rather than quotes taken from other sources.
So, there are some definite differences.
