12/17/99, no he wasn't the first user.

BBR is on 12/17/99
Pimp signed up on 12/15/99
Who was the first?
I can't exactly tell now.
We used to be able to do it before in the old layout, but since we access profiles with our actual names and not numbers and javascript it's hard to tell.

Maybe we'll get Tom or Wade in here to answer this.
I doubt it though.
It was TomFulp. Before te redesign, profiles were accessed with this javascript.
javascript:OpenProfileWin(x)
Putting 1 where x is will give you the 1st user. And before the redesign, you got TomFulp's profile with javascript:OpenProfileWin(1).
So TomFulp is the first user.

Tom was first, then Wade, then a couple of other admins. Aside from them it was a tie between HumanTarget52 and Pimp, then after that was Shrapnel, then bigbadron. These are just the users I know, I'm sure there are a few no-name accounts as well.
I am the original person who changed this signature....you can use it if you like.
December 25th was the first date people could sign up on this Newgrounds but when asking about the ones before this... I am not too sure, I would imagine Tom, Wade, or one of their friends though.
I'm sure Newgrounds didn't get its popularity overnight.

Tom, Wade, and Pimp all signed up on the same date.

As of now, you could still use the old user ID's to backtrack to someone's account page by using the old review page links.
http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/readrev iew.php3?user_id=XXXXX
Just replace XXXXX with whatever ID you want, and it will direct you to the review section of that particular user's userpage. This trick will work even if they don't have any reviews. If it redirects to the front page instead, it means that the account was deleted.
Using that method I just described, here's what I found when I decided to look up User ID's 1-11 (the first 11 people to sign up)
1. TomFulp
2. JStick
3. Ross
4. mel
5. Sean
6. KaneOfNod
7. theithith
8. deleted account
9. deleted account
10. deleted account
11. Koepfi
I believe I registered on the very first day, within the very first hour of the release of Grounds Gold, can't remember 8 years ago that clearly. :P
I think the people who have 1999~ registration dates possibly had theirs changed to an earlier time or had their accounts made for testing the beta.. or I'm entirely mistaken and someone didn't think to register the name 'Pico' in the 5 months before I managed to bag it?
Here's a better question, who made the very first user-post thread/post on the NG BBS and what was it? (Excluding Tom, Wade, admins etc.)

I too yearn to learn the answer to that particular question!

And just like that....he was gone...

And interestingly, though so many of the oldest and most legendary posters have gone, Olskoo, lucadude (now Lycanthropy), and so many others like them who had their names in Newgrounds' most legendary topics of the past (like NG's Biggest Topic and the BLAM Club), Zoro still keeps posting right up into 2008. He was here at the beginning, and right up to this day he remains. Though, his post count is fairly low compared to that of others, so perhaps he had periods of inactivity in there.

Is it that hard to just change the topic ID to 1?
Zoro.
There were 2 other forums before this one I believe. That was just the first post on the "new BBS"

Listen up kids... sit on my lap.
Tom was the first. I remember the day they started the whole membership thing. i thought it was stupid because this site didnt have any real community yet and no real point or level system that was anything special... so it was pointless to have a user name. i remember when to get a blam point you had to be that one final vote that sent it to the dumpster. anyways... it was tom.

I thought he had the earliest signup date? Anyhow, with the old system it would have been easy to find out just by typing in the user link with ID 1 - 2 - 3 - so on, but now, no idea.
