Hello All! I am here with a new collab!

This collab is the Pick your song collab!

Theme: YOU pick a 20 second clip out from a song you like, animate over it, and then submit it!

If you do not know how to rip your song, please use Audacity

Specs:
Dimensions: 550x400
Speed: 24 FPS
Length: 20 seconds
Song Specs: Any, unless its really stupid.
Background: White, Draw your own
No: Porn, 'ocks
Sticks are OKAY
Sprites are OKAY
(but make them good)
ALL SONGS MUST BE IN MP3 FORMAT ( save space)

Anyone can join. However, I can not guarantee that I will put every part in the collab

There will be 15 parts, making it 300 seconds + intro and credits.

We will need:
Someone who can make a preloader
Intro

I will be doing credits.

Coauthoring:
This will go to the top nine people that I think did the best job and contributed the most to the productiveness of the collab.

NO SPAMMING
NO FLAMING

You are all encouraged to give POSITIVE feedback to the submitters work though.

Deadlines:
First Checkpoint: I want to see a piece of your collab. February 10th
Second: I hope everyone is either done or working hard: February 28th
Finish: March 8th

CORRECTION: Since it is so troublesome to convert to MP3 in audacity, you may send the file to me in any format. I will convert it.

I actually thought about making one like this, but I made the accident collab instead ;) I'll maybe join. I am pretty busy at the time, so I'm not sure if I'm in.

Hot damn, this is an Awesome idea for a collab! I need to finish a collab peice I'm working on ATM and my latest Shortened Shakespeare flash, but if this is still going when they're done, I am so joining this collab. (Until then, don't put me down on the list.)

Hey i'd love to join this collab to help me get some experience

I've been makin a stick movie (yawn) which kinda breaks the rules, because his hands have lasers that come out of his fingers (like a gun) cos I wanted to be original, or something like that

And I think it'll be perfect for this collab, with the song 'Mr Roboto' by Styx

So here'es a quick previewk

Bear in mind I had to reduce the fps from 33 to 24, so ill tidy it up a bit soon, this is more of a pre-preview, and the real thing will look a lot better in 5-6 weeks time when this collab gets released.

You guys, basically his collab is the, I Want to Animate to Music Collab. It's like every other collab except there are no specifications on what to chose. Maybe you should make it more of a follow the rules collab. You also missed any sort of intro or ending you would like? Fade the song in an out?

I might just do something for this, if I have time.

my plan is actually to use the dj scratching sound to change songs. i will try to piece together the songs as smoothly as possible . with no WTFS? in the middle.

As for all the joiners, plz specify your songs!

1. its 2 seconds long
2. the lines should be more smooth, even if it is brush painting
3. if you are planning to animate to "Mr.Roboto" you should make it more... robotlike.

i suggest moving the lazer finger guy like a robot.

Not meaning to be rude, but I think you should have someone else design the logo image.

that is not going to be the image on the menu. I finished it in 2 minutes just to provide a... logo thing.

Umm...bud...MP3's are actually bigger (way bigger) when have them in flash, for example, a whole song is about 3mb in mp3 form, and WAV's are only about 1mb, I know WAVS are bigger on your computer, but when you put them in flash and export it, it makes the SWF a lot smaller.

I think he can probably find a way to make it work.
He could compress em.

300k*15= 4.5mb
Plus menu and junk is about

5mb swf.

That's not that big.

true, true...But a little compression would make it easier on some computers, cuz on slow computers 5mb might take forever to load, plus add some animation, it might be 6mb

Guess I was proved wrong, use MP3's or Wav's they both work :p

We gotta take the slow ones into consideration.
You can use .mo3, but It'll get crazy if people use sound effects.
So Little compression so the don't get out of sync and no sound effects.

its MP3. I really couldnt care less how big the filesize would be, since i doubt we will go over 10 MB

a bigger filesize gives the impression of better movie. :]

Question. Since there are 13 spots to be filled, if somebody does two parts, does that mean they take up two seats or are we limited to one part each?

You should post a blog With all the filled spots or update it the next page.

Okay. Uh, in my song, I'm not gonna start from the start...and I don't know how to play the song from a point that's like 25 seconds past...can anybody offer any assistance to a frustrated noob?
