Watch this first if you haven't seen it. It's central to everything.
This has just exploded. It's all over the news today:
NBCs report
Sky News take on it
Some online normal text news:

One thing that I see across a lot of news sites is that while in the start they dismissed Anonymous as kids who live in basements with too much spare time, the ongoing attack has made more and more people really think that this is serious, brining in experts to share their opinion on how much power this "hacker group" actually possesses, with very varying answers, from nothing to complete invisibility and control.
What do you think?
For a short summary, Anonymous has taken down several Scientology websites, spammed their phone lines to the point were they are unusable by normal callers, spammed their faxes, held protests outside Scientology buildings and churches, put up anti-Scientology posters, even flooded toilets in Scientology buildings, and such things.
I myself was quite surprised that all attacks wasn't computer based. It's definitely the biggest internet raid I've ever seen.
(sorry if I screwed up any link tags, it was fucking hard to see)

Well.
That is weird. Better nip that crazy-ass bullshit in the bud anyways.
Though there is one cool way I heard to destroy credibility of this kind of shit: you ridicule it. Some dude did it for the KKK way back when, he infiltrated their ranks and learned all the secret names and whatnot then made a radio show for kids with dudes who had the same stupid-ass name like "grand wizard" or whatever they are called, and apparently that worked :o
Bah, I wonder how this will turn out. Interesting.

Well, it's definitly something i've been keeping an eye on lately. Though I don't always understand the raids, i do sure love them. This cause i'm gonna condone, or even support if you will.
Though, the news coverages always crack me up. I love how they talk about Anonymous as a single person.

This isn't really 4chan. However, many members of 4chan is in the raid.

they have a goal to stop scientology's 'propoganda'. as much as i think scientology is a load of bullshit, groups like them have a right to produce as much 'propaganda' as they want.
"and for our enjoyement" well at least anonymous is being honest.

Well, I would argue that Anonymous has just as much right to create propaganda against Scientology if that is the case. Freedom of speech includes speech against freedom.
Hey, that was kinda catchy.

No, but practically everyone will hate you.
Hey, since scientology is (sort of) a religion, does this count as a religious war.....ON THE INTERNET?

If jesus was an atheist does that make Christianity a religion?

I wouldn't be surprised to find out 4chan is one of the big dogs, but your right I think this is more of a general Internet raid.
I find this whole thing extremely funny, and since I dislike Scientology I support anonymous in this particular fight.
Faith tramples all reason, logic, and common sense.

It's very rare I even think about raids or whatever, but I actually support Anonymous on this to an extent. Not because Scientology deserves it, but just because this should be an interesting experiment to see exactly how much power the internet has given the normal person. If it's possible for a somewhat organised group of people to take down a 'religion', what the hell could happen if they get properly organised and take things seriously, and not just for fun?

I'm rooting for Anonymous on this. Scientology is incredibly stupid (copyrighted religion? No thanks). I'm glad to see them getting picked on and not being able to throw their lawyers at it.
I suck.

Well, partyvan just went down, as have all the "command" forums. Looks like they are finally being taken seriously.

Do you?
I don't support physical acts against a religious institution; it simply warrants and justifies any kind of act against any kind of religious group. Even a religion that was founded by a 'Jesus atheist' [That's where thee example came from]

I don't know if I'd even label Scientology as a religion. It's just one big scam, out to defraud people.
Also, Tom Cruise is a giant cunt.
I was thinking, are there any Scientologist on Newgrounds? If there is, it'd be nice to hear their thought are on this issue.

The thing is, scientology isn't just exercising freedom of speech, they're doing real damage to real people and their families. Sometimes you've got to actually stand up for what's right, and for one reason or another, anonymous is pretty good at uniting when it comes to that.
