not sure how I'm going to frame and hang them yet, I'll figure something cool out
pretty pleased with how these turned out, there pretty big, the paper is 15"x21"
HA! Nice ones, I love them all!
The lines and the colours fit together really nicely. ;D
thanks hellknight, it actually turned out better than i thought it would, this is probably one of the more ambitious stencils I've attempted in awhile.
here's that stencil i posted early with it's second layer and all sprayed up, i added the red so people would understand that thing floating off his face was his other eye
Excellent, excellent stencil man. Really really good. I don't think the red stencil goes with the other 3. It's too vibrant in comparison to the other versions. Excellent work.

Dude, I love your art. Most original and unique stuff I've seen for quite a while!

i'm back from Ohio! Spent thanksgiving with my mum, and was without internet for awhile, gotta go check up on the new threads that popped up.
Thanks chymo and toxic, and i do think the red is a little bolder than the others, but i wanted one that was reds so it was more of an anotomy picture, and then have it degrade to wierder colors, but the only reds i could get ahold of were darker, i wish i had more pastel ones at hand but no such luck.
And not to completely leave you hanging without any art, here's a sneak peak at my next art project. I recently threw away alot of dead cans of spray paint, so i punched holes in the bottoms of them and cleaned them out, crunched them up a little, and now i'm gonna paint on them.
It's crunch times!! National portfolio day is this weekend and i need to crank out a bunch of pieces to take with me, anyone else going?
Here's a print of the stencil that will be sprayed where the bicep should be on the painting of the guy shooting blue stuff out his hands.
and here's the stencil behind that, the other layer isn't very interesting it's just a solid shape that's a little bigger than the outline of this.
and here's the print that will be coming out of the bottom of the guys shirt
Last but not least the stencil for the last print, I think it's important to see the stencils of these prints, since it's kind of a backwords way of cutting a stencil (for me atleast)
and i also got the first face painted on those spray paint cans, i decided to paint clown faces on all of them, so far so good. I'll post pictures of them when i get around to it
and sorry about the shitty quality of these pictures i'm still rocking it with a camera phone until i get a new chord for my real camera
They're pretty good Ben, but they're not as clever and surreal as your last bunch. That's cool also. Nice job. I'm glad to hear your painting clowns. I <3 Clowns.
yeah i wasn't going for my usual surrealness with these stencils, they're part of a larger piece that is surreal, i'm trying to figure out a way to use this same process of stenciling with some of my stranger characters, i like the fact that cutting them this way i can get closed shapes in the final result, just not sure how to transfer it over to my cartoons
glad you like clowns i'll let you know when they're posted up

Yeah they're cool man. I would say use a ruler though, straighter lines will look better. They still kick my stencils' arse. Thanks, I'll comment them when they're up.
send in...the CLOWNS!!
or well, smashed can, clown things...
this guy might be my favorite...
or maybe him becasue he has a unibrow
he might be my least favorite...
And one more post for good measure, here's a dry point i did today, turned out pretty sweet
Wow, those clown cans are awesome. I like the purple/pink one the best. Nice job.
yeah i think he's the best out of all of them, i have so much art at my house right now it's crazy, i'm all geared up for national portfolio day, i'm gonna take it by storm!
Did a pretty cool not so observational drawing today, most of it is from observation but i drew it in two sittings, and i couldn't recreate the lighting so i made most of it up, i'll post it when i get pictures
Cool. What's National Portfolio Day?

it's this big shindig in baltimore on MICAs campus, pretty much every art school worth anything shows up and has a table somewhere and they spend the whole day reviewing portfolios for people who want to go to their school, and you can get your portfolio accepted on the spot, it's pretty sweet and it's alot of fun. This is my 3rd year going, and this time around i can get accepted into colleges, so i'm throwing up my A game and getting ready to kick a whole lot of ass
Good luck. We don't have anything like that over here in the UK.

haha thanks, i'm gald you like them. Probably one of the more enjoyable projects i've done in awhile.
a little bump before my thread disappears into the abyss. and a little update on what i've been up to.
sorry for the lack of new art lately, i've been busy trying to get prints made, i just churned out 21 prints of 3 different stencils in two days (14 two colored prints and 7 four-colored prints) it was pretty intense.
I also have a semi-observational drawing and a little sculpture piece i need to post up, just need to find a damn camera...
Wow this is one artistic gallery. Awesome stenciling and great paintings. You seem to doing this for fun. Its notable. Very abstract like drawings too with that phenomenon with the teeth. I once made a munny too, for Luis' project last year. Yours is quite bizarre lmao.
You shade decently too. And you do better on hands than i do. Tons of kudos to you captain.
