Yeah i love to draw faces, working on bodies and such, i need to practice hands and feet badly though

Excuse this impending triple post, but in the spirit of me loving to draw faces, i started to paint this big face on a piece of wood, almost done, need to go pick up purple airbrush paint to outline and shade it all, should be cool

tried watered down acrylic, but the color wasn't very good and i couldn't do thin lines with it

anyways, here

another one, a little closer

Feel free to comment or critique, i love it when someone completely bashes my artwork and tells me everything thats wrong with it, always helps

started on the shirt design today, still needs alot of work but this is what ive finished so fart

oh and the wood painting is really great, id love to see it finished with alot more detail though

thanks, i'm gonna pick up some purple paint for my air brush to outline it and do some shading

and that update of mine looks real sweet, you should throw in something of yours

well, problem with that is my style isn't exactly pretty to begin with, and honestly i just realized i don't draw women women, i've drawn sexually ambiguous characters, or masculine charaacters with female attributes.

Let me see what you have started so far, so i have something to go off of

i dont actually have anything for u to go off of because i keep throwing everything away :P

the problem is that when i try to make the female it always looks like a male, i just cant seem to put any feminine features into the character and i dont know y, its really irritating lol

I know the problem, i haven't got an actual concrete way of making a purely femine character, usually adding eyelashes, make-up, pig-tails, or some other girly haircut helps. And if your inlcuding a body boobs obviously is a sign of womanliness

and kinda in a shit mood over that painting, i don't know when it will get finished, just bought 50$ worth of Airbrush paint, tried it out and it's to thick, doesn't run through my airbrush, and it doesn't say i should have to water it down on the bottle. And when i water it down i get the same preblem as watered down acrylic and the colors all washed out

so i need to return that stuff, and who knows when i'll find paint that works, i dunno not in a good mood about it, it might stay as it is for awhile

did u try oil based paint?

maybe i should've just named this thread ben and avoe talk about shit, i wonder why no one else feels inclined to say something

Avoe, do you mean oil in my airbrush? Pretty sure that would kill it, oil does water down to well i think, and it would be a bitch to clean my airbrush out afterwords. And if you mean to paint with, i don't like oil very much, hard to clean up with, and i don't do to much shading, usual blocky simplistic shading for me, so acrylic dries faster and just works better for me.

But i am going to finish that painting on saturday i decided, just not with any airbrush, i'm going to add another shade and detail with a darker green, then do outlines and stuff in a dark green (near black) so i'll post up finished work this weekend

And finally not to be a dick and continue posting without any art, heres some doodles i did today in school, that should tide you over

yeah i noticed that after i posted it, to late, doesn't really matter, landline is getting cut anyway, we all have cell phones, don't use the landline to much

and i'll just hope no rapist sees this and tracks down my house

Finished the painting, turned out kinda cool, kinda in a blah mood so can't get excited about it, i'll be happy about it later, to tired right now. Please critique, can't improve until i know what wrong

well this is gonna be an epic multi-post on my part, but it's my thread and i can't be blamed for people not posting on here

but i haven't posted in awhile, but heres the first half of what i'm probably going to submit for this mural competition, it puts me in the judging for who gets to paint this 5 x 30 foot mural by the Andy Warhol Museum in pittsburgh, it'll be cool if i get it, gotta make a preliminary painting first though

And this is for another project i'm going to do, i just finished doing this art show (turned out lame, didn't like it) with a bunch of kids for my work, part of it involved making these foamboard standees, like the ones they put famous actors or like starwars shit on, printed on cardboad with a "foot" in the back to make them stand up.

i liked the idea and we have a bunch of foamboard left over, so i was going to make one of my character, it's gonna be like 4 feet tall and 8 feet long, should be sweet

sorry for crappy quality, for this one and actually all the drawings, i don't own a scanner so it's all on my shotty digital camera

heres a close up on the body, kinda proud of the pants, think i did a pretty decent job on detail with his lower body

but heres just a better look because the full one is kinda blurry

alright, one last one, close up on his hand, he's holding his heart, the blood drips will help keep his arm standing up

alright i'm tired as hell time to go to sleep, hopefully this'll get people to post, i still would like some criticism on my wood painting, i think i'm going to add a neck to him in the near future, who knows

oh well, i give up on trying to get people to comment or suggest, i'll just keep posting stuff for anybody who randomly feel like checking this out

i've been trying to improve my anatomy, my two weakest parts are the hands and feet, started to draw hands first, easier to look at my hand during school than my foot

so these are the first round of hand practice, each drawing took between 5-10 minutes, hoping to drop that time down alot and clean it all up

I like the bright colors you use.

and heres my pretty sorry attempt at a shading an value exercise

you cover the paper in black charcoal and go into it with a kneaded eraser and white charcoal to draw the hand, it's to put emphasis on shadow and minute value, think the thumb area and it leading up into the hand looks decent, not so much on the rest, need to make it much smoother

and your not supposed to outline anything, but it's my habit and i didn't like it without so the white outline went in!

You're also really good at hands

thank you! i'm just happy someone other than me posted in this thread.

but i love bright colors, makes a fun almost contradiction with the somewhat grotesque characters i like to draw, i think it adds a small sense of humor to something that could easily be dark and creepy

anyways, I really love all of your art, but I think the subject matter you are drawing/painting is starting to get repetitive.

yeah, if subject matter you mean the faces, then yes it's very repetitive, but because most of this is all art done when i'm bored or doodles, i doodle faces, i have some things that are a little better, i'll try and get pictures and post them and such, maybe i'll post some things i already posted that are a little different

plus heres an update on the scribble, anime person gave up and left so i improved it, thought it was funny so i post it here for your viewing pleasure
