Yes, I realize this may be considered "off-topic", but this is an issue that transcends petty fanboy arguments. Recently, Fox News aired a TV segment about the "digital nudity" in Mass Effect. Rather than tell you all the details, you can read them for yourself here:
http://gamepolitics.com/2008/01/22/1993/
or you can watch the entire segment here:
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=PKzF173Gq TU
For those of you that have played Mass Effect, you can see how Fox News was misrepresenting the facts, and even if you haven't played Mass Effect, you can probably make an educated guess. EA's Jeff Brown responded with a letter to Fox News defending Mass Effect, which you can read here:
http://kotaku.com/348187/ea-calls-fox-ou t-on-insulting-mass-effect-inaccuracies
http://gamepolitics.com/2008/01/24/ea-ca lls-out-fox-news-over-mass-effect-smear/
Of course, Fox News just brushed him off by telling him to contact their PR department
http://www.gamedaily.com/articles/news/f ox-gives-ea-the-brushoff-ea-going-to-fig ht-back/19188/?biz=1
Now that you're all caught up, this brings me to the point of this topic. A petition has been started to get Fox to retract their statements. For the sake of gamers everywhere, please, sign the petition and get others to do the same.

It's new stories like these that further censorship. Fight it!

How is this censorship? It's just a bunch of journalists being dumb.

Because it starts like this. It starts with something small. Some misinformation. Jumping to conclusions. But if a bunch or ignorant people make a commotion about this, then people looking to be elected hear, and think, "Hmmm well this is a way to get support."
We need to make sure that fools like Jack Thompson don't get any more ammo.

I already made a topic about this.
Also, online petitions never work.

Fox News are hypocrites. They preach all this conservative bullshit and yet it it the least (sexually) conservative in practice. Any media outlet is owned by Rupert Murdoch quickly degenerates into shit.

True to that. I find this whole censorship this to be nonsense. Mass Effect selling porn to kids? It's rated Goddammned M.
Let there be sex.
Hell yeah, Telecaster with Bigsby.
If you are reading this, then I guess it means that my post count +1.
Remember how people used to get into big fusses about films? Now it's happening to games, and it will happen to something else in the future.
I've found these people barely ever do their research. That Fox News article, Joe Lieberman, Jack Thompson, that lady who "dissed" Newgrounds, all of them. The most hilarious example of this, was when Jack Thompson claimed that in the EA game, The Sims, Sims could be seen in the nude with sexual organs and pubic hair if you manually deleted all the dots while the Sims where in the shower/on the toilet etc. He neglected to mention that Sims were never designed with sexual organs and pubic hair, and the only way to get them is to download an unofficial mod.
Not specifically censorship, but I know what you're talking about. I think soon enough that games will be accepted as a form of art of some sort. In the meantime, please sign my petition damnit.

Online anythings never work. That's why Snakes on a Plane failed at the box office and Ron Paul won't get elected.
I suck.
