Hey there, 18 year old guitarist here. I am also sheepishly nominating myself, but for one main reason:
I am part of the 0.01% here who is showcasing something completely different, unlike anything I've yet to come across in the NG audio portal. Basically, I'm sure most of you have seen "There She Is! Final Step" and have heard the song used in it. That genre, I consider pop-punk. Which, also, is the genre of the music I am here to nominate for an Underdog.
Two of the songs on my profile are by one of the bands I am in, T.A.W.G. which stands for Two Asians and a White Guy. We hail from Canada, eh! and are fortunate enough to have a very talented vocalist, who you can hear on Secrets Kept and Go From Here. I'm not sure if you'll like his tone of voice, but I believe it's really unique. We recorded these songs in a studio held here on Vancouver Island, using the bits and pieces of money we could scrape up from our low-pay jobs. Unfortunately, neither of our songs have received reviews, and I have very few listens, to be honest. I'd love to get a bit more exposure and hopefully have you all enjoy some of our songs.
The last song on my profile is simply something I did while messing around with PC Drummer Pro and some spare time. It's called "How To Stop An Exploding Man" (anybody here a Heroes fan?) and is basically a heavier, grungier pop-punk song. I'm especially proud of the chorus, however, and think it turned out pretty well considering the low budget equipment I'm using. That consists of a mic'd 4x12 Behringer speaker cabinet into a Line 6 Toneport UX2 pre-amp. Bass and guitar were recorded with it, while like I said at the start, the drums are simply mapped with PC Drummer Pro. All put together and mixed/mastered in Audacity. Fancy, eh?
Well, hope you enjoy my few submissions and think I qualify for an underdog. If not, I hope you like what you hear anyways!
