The Fool's Gold Loaf is a sandwich made by a restaurant in Denver, Colorado called the Colorado Mine Company. The sandwich consists of a single loaf of hollowed out, warmed bread, one jar of creamy peanut butter, one jar of grape jelly, and a pound of bacon. The result is slathered with butter and then baked. The name of the sandwich is derived from its price of $49.95. In later years, it was priced closer to $100 for the sandwich and a bottle of Dom Perignon.

This artery hardening he-man of sandwiches was a personal favorite of Mr. Elvis Aaron Presley (you call the King by his full name out of respect goddammit) who once memorably flew 2 hours at 1AM from Memphis to Denver just to wrap his greezy mits around one. He was known to finish the whole sandwich, which was meant to feed 4-6 people, solo.
