4.07 / 5.00 10,082 ViewsOk so this is for everyone who likes to draw dragons, please feel free to submit. Only rule.
Nothing perverted please. I don't think I should have to put down a list of things that are perverted and not perverted. use common sense please. :-) Also, I don't claim to know anything, but I'm offering to teach people how to draw dragons. I'll have one or two lessons up every week. Then after you post what you've learned or drew.
As I said, I'm not a master, and to draw is to find your own style, I'm just here to show you little shortcuts I've learned throughout my life :D We will start basic, and continue from there. But I need to know that there are people who are actually interested in learning. I'd like to have at least ten people say yeah. I'd like to learn. So what I'm gonna do is post an example of what you could learn and take it from there. If I get enough people, I'll post full fledged tutorials.
Please keep in mind that what you see below was only done in 15 minutes, and the actual tutorial will be nicer looking.
If you can't stand the heat then don't tickle the dragon

ya, dragons are great art practice, lots of minute curves and changes in form, good for learning shading and inking... the scales are great for texturing.
...that being said, i suck at drawing them. i wanna learn.
*sits patiently*

Lol! I guess it does make him a fag XDD I never thought of that ^^ I actually only added it in because his ear was off from the other one. I put the ear rings in to counter balance my non-symetrical abilities. XDD

I had someone ask me if I was going to post tutorials for both eastern and western. I had never thought of the idea of doing both kinds, but since I can, I figured I would show you one of my older chinese dragons. He was the very first I drew, and was inspired by my mom as a tattoo design. I'll do an eye tutorial for the chinese dragon that is shown below.

How long did it take to draw each individual scale in that post? It must have been somewhat tedious...
Also: perhaps a little on draconian proportions? Where and how do you place the eyes on the skull? How do you draw the skull? Sometimes when I end up doodling a dragon it ends up looking more like a horse.

TO MORI::
Oh he's really cool looking, and it's a great job in pen. Tis a shame he's on notebook paper. Bravo! He's really quite an eyesight. ;-) keep rocking dude. the perspective is awesome.

This tutorial is for raven, Sorry for the craptasticness of it, but it gives you the basics on where everything should lay on a dragon's face looking forward. I will post tutorials for the side view and the snout very soon. ^^

Alright, I think I'm starting to get it.
TO RAVEN::
your dragon is beautiful ^^ It has great expression, and great job on the mouth. Most people have problems drawing that out. ;-)

Another on placement, only a side view.

Tis better to sit in silence and be presumed a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt.
I don't like mine :(
It looks like a 5 year old did it.

It reminded me of that. Did you know there's one called "Funny" and my brother sent that one in. It's awesome. By the way, the first GOOD dragon I ever drew was based off of Strongsad's one. If you hold tab, there'll be a secret, and if you click it, you can see Strongsad's.
