Who else agrees with me that WWIII will happen during the next presidency (maybe one after)?

Reason:
With Iran working on their nuclear programs, America and it's allies feel we need to be sure they're not planning on developing nuclear weapons. Iran tells us they won't, but they won't keep us informed enough to be sure their intentions are good. Russia backs Iran and assures them that if we try anything against them, Russia will have their backs. This means the nuclear program should be done in the next 1-10 years. If their intentions are on weaponry (which I believe they are), the US and their allies will do something (not sure what yet) militarily to them. I'm sure this will give that insane son-of-a-bitch Kim Jong Il reason to break the current Korean treaty and probably try either a nuke or an assault on South Korea or Japan, leading into an ever-downward spiral of involved countries and military conflicts to ensure WWIII happening very soon.

No, I don't really see a world war in the near future, at least if the current state of things stays without any radical changes. If, for example, a much more radical government took over in China or Russia, or if any movement other than Islamic fundamentalism gained special notoriety in terrorismness, I could foresee a chain of events that would lead to another world war, or at least a pretty nasty war of non-wordly nature.

International affairs as they currently are can be grounds for a lot of craziness, but no serious threats to human existence.

Agreed, but it's essentially irrelevant if Iran isn't developing nuclear weapons.

What would Russia have to gain from this? Iran's oil supplies are limited enough that they wouldn't cause Russia to take a serious diplomatic risk.

It would certainly give him ideological ammo ("OMG America is evil"), but it wouldn't necessarily put him in a position to launch a suicidal war against overwhelmingly superior enemies (America, Japan, in this scenario China, Taiwan).

North Korea is also economically dependent on China, and there is no way China would put forward support for a North Korean suicide assault.
