Yeah, it works as long as you get access to the demo, which is fine since you need to put in a CD-key (of a sort, I assume. Feel free to correct me if I'm wrong) whether you bought it in-store or through Steam.

If you preorder L4d2, you get the hat, a baseball bat and early access to the demo, but since L4d2 looks EXACTLY like L4d, but with different characters and new zombies and weapons (this meaning tht thay could've easily released a L4D expansion instead of a new fucking game) l won't be getting it unless the demo is astonishingly good...also, censorship is fail, it's like indirectly promoting piracy.
Oh yeah, and Simpe,l would gladly swap my medal for any hat...IF I HAD ONE.

I say they are more like alternative weapons. About half the classes have specific achievements you can unlocked. Check menu -> achievements for a list of them.

Once you do so many achievements, you reach a milestone - think it's 7, 12 and 18 achievements per milestone. With each milestone, you get a new weapon.

Or you recieve the weapon from random drops.

The levels beside your weapon in the layout means nothing at the moment, and only unlockables seem to have a varying level number.

Only peeps who pre-ordered the game, either via steam or from a retailer, will find the hat in their backpack.

The trouble is, Valve said they were only going to release the patch if the appeal for the uncut version went through. It didn't, so they're not releasing the patch, unless they decide to change their mind.

Ugh...Australia can have only 15+ games because one guy refused to give his consent?OMG, that sucks dinosaur balls....
Also, I really hope that LD42 doesn't sell well so that VALVe never does this kinda shit again...

Backstab a player 3 times in the same area without dying.

Only 8% of all players have gained this achievement. It has to be all in the hat.

Well, you can't really blame Valve because they're only obeying the law. It's the stupid government and its ridiculous stance on mature games, even though there have been numerous surveys etc showing that the average age of the Australian gamer is closer to 30, not <15.

Lol, I got that one ages ago. It's not particularly difficult if you hang around the Sniper balcony on 2fort. Nice work with 17 backstabs in one life though.

I got that one like, a week or 2 after the update came out (by accident though), i thought you needed the Dead Ringer for it, but it's the Cloak and Dagger.
