The trouble is, Valve said they were only going to release the patch if the appeal for the uncut version went through. It didn't, so they're not releasing the patch, unless they decide to change their mind.

Ugh...Australia can have only 15+ games because one guy refused to give his consent?OMG, that sucks dinosaur balls....
Also, I really hope that LD42 doesn't sell well so that VALVe never does this kinda shit again...

Kicking ass as Spy today, racking up 17 backstabs in one game. I've also managed to gain the Achievement 'Deep Undercover':

Backstab a player 3 times in the same area without dying.

Only 8% of all players have gained this achievement. It has to be all in the hat.

Well, you can't really blame Valve because they're only obeying the law. It's the stupid government and its ridiculous stance on mature games, even though there have been numerous surveys etc showing that the average age of the Australian gamer is closer to 30, not <15.

Lol, I got that one ages ago. It's not particularly difficult if you hang around the Sniper balcony on 2fort. Nice work with 17 backstabs in one life though.

Yes, by "shit" l was talking about releasing a new game just a year and a half after the original one...

Only 8% of all players have gained this achievement. It has to be all in the hat.

I still can't believe that only 60% or so of players have the "hard to kill" achievement..l mean, come on, everyone should have that one...

I got that one like, a week or 2 after the update came out (by accident though), i thought you needed the Dead Ringer for it, but it's the Cloak and Dagger.

Nonetheless, still no hat.

Been playing a bit more spy lately again. I was wondering, how many of you use the 'stab-sap' technique rather than the other way around?

I was doing it today, and it's actually very effective. You've gotta be fast though.

Well, as you said, if you think you can do it then go for it..although it will fail if other (smart) engies are around..if not, it's the single best tactic to eliminate an engie/sentry from behind...

Say you've got two engies... are you fast enough to actually bring up the dead ringer before a level 3 sentry can blow you to bits? Say you stab an engie, and quickly sap his sentry from behind, are you fast enough to then bring up your DR to prevent getting killed by a second engie's Sentry?

I do that all the time if the engi is close enough to his sentry. I may not be very good but there's very little chance of me sapping a sentry and then stabbing the engi before he destroys the sapper, but the other way around I can do easy.

I'll have to try that tactic. Sounds very effective. Also: Superfunhappyspystorytime!

I was on arena_nucleus, I was the only player left on my team, and I was a spy (severe pain in the ass), there was a demoman in the centre control point, popping stickies all around the area, I was afraid to approach him, but I had to, considering there was one more BLU player who I couldn't find. I disguised myself as a soldier, and approached him. He didn't seem to notice me, considering I was walking towards him in the same direction, I got next to him, backstab. I was standing on the point without a diguise, only then I heard an uncloaking noise, and I knew there was another spy about. Saw him, we had a long ambassador duel. Boom, headshot, winnar is me, happy days.

Sometimes in the 2fort sewers, if an engi builds his sentry then dispenser right behind him, i crouch behind the dispenser and un-disguise. Most of the time the engi is too 'wtf' to realize what the hell is going on and his own sentry gun kills him :) Doesn't always work that well though :/

I love doing this. Dying by your own Sentry is possibly the greatest shame and Engie can have :P

Sup guys.

True story: I pressed escape to look at some achievement i was after, and i saw the buttons you usually get when you find a weapon show up underneath, the server window was covering what it was that i found. I almost pressed 'Discard' but thought na, ill give it a chance. Next thing my jaw dropped, and i was like HOLY FUCK!

I'm no longer random drop hatless :D

Also Kooper, that stuff you said about the hat making you play better? I think it's true :3

Well, yeah, l am pretty good with the DR, and the sentry will take half a second to notice you (unless you're right in front of it), sothis should work just fine.

I've done this a few times, the only way to do it well though is to press the Q key instead of using scroller

I've been using the scrollwheel, and it's been working fine. I've got it on quickswitch though, so that might be why. Just don't accidentally scroll too far/wrong way... I did that once, and it didn't end well *facepalm*.

Because we're awesome ^_^

And I just thought this was ridiculously good timing for the close-up of the person who just killed you. Got revolvered to death by a spy, (with the help of a lot of others) as Heavy, and I got this for the close-up.

I already had that achievement before i reset mine, but i do wonder if the same problem i had is going around :/ I remember a few hours later me and you went on that spawn camping killing spree and i got 15 kills in one life as soldier, the next day that record plus a Sniper record i made had been set to 0 :/
