High five!

I think it looks nice, but if everyone is going to be running around with it, I will be pissed.

Hopefully they will but 1 more bag slot in. I want to have everything on offer.

It's a damn civil war. Servers are banning people with halos. Other servers are banning people without halos. Medics refuse to heal people with halos. Other Medics refuse to heal people without halos. Valve needs to do something about this. I'm getting tired of Valve's lazy horse shit.

That actually sounds really hilarious.
How do you get these halo hats? Do they just appear in your inventory? Do many people have them...?

The people who didn't idle using that program get them, use your imagination to get a number. They appear in your backpack when you go into it.

I wish people would read posts...

lol, why are they doing that?
Hopefully they'll just take them out because I don't like seeing bright yellow dots everywhere. Hate the whole hat system and wish there was just a way to turn them off. The game is just fine without all the make up, all we need are the damn class updates.

This is so stupid. But seriously, how could Valve expect that people would be so immature about it? It's as if they assume that the community is somewhat intelligent and mature. *sigh*

Today I was playing, and some butthurt idler kept whinging about all the halos over the mic. I was just about to mute the idiot when I got team-switched. I can't say that the autobalance has never done anything good for me anymore.

Wait...you mean people who didn't get anything by idling or even people who joined idle servers?
Cos l joined one, but l didn't leave my PC at all and l was trying to kill the idlers...well, there's only one way to find out!
Also, fucking finally!l am so damn happy that they increased the drop rates...IMO the idling was necessary to get VALVe to move their asses and do something about it...

Well, you won't get a hat....but still, that hat did create a war...apparently servers are kicking non-halo wearing people, but some people just don't like them (or remove them for utility reasons-YOU CAN SEE AN INVISIBLE SPY'S HALO)...it's so retarded to kickpeople for wearing or not wearing something...should be illegal..(servers that do that should be deleted)

Indeed. The halos aren't even so great hats to begin with (not being envious, fyi) and the fact that 95.5% of the community have one devalues it in my opinion. The reason people want to wear hats is to be unique and stand out. Let's just put aside the fact that you can see spies or that you got some other handicap. Valve will fix that anyway. It's just that the halos aren't very special.
Also, I want Item Trading and Item Crafting. Now.

As if the hats have any value to begin with. They don't make you run faster or do any damage, they're just for fun. I don't care if everyone else has the hat, it's still cool that they gave it out. Any other developer would either not care or perma-ban idlers.

I just played then, noticing the abundance of players wearing those stupid halos. I hope this is only for a limited time. The people try to be original by wearing the hat, but in reality, everyone's wearing it. Soon whoever DOESN'T wear the hat will be unique.

The reason people want to wear hats is to be unique and stand out.

in other words, people who suck at the game and can't manage to stay on top of their team throughout the match

How the fuck did you do that?

Also, TheReno, what the fuck?If you don't like the hat and "you are very disappoint" then just don't wear it...what's the point in giving existing hats? They increased the drop rate for that..there's no need to whine on such an epic level for NOT having something...just play the damn game and you'll get a hat, the probability is 4.5% or something now, so it ain't that hard...

lol 4.5 is the percentage of users who idle. Also I didnt get the halo because I idled xD But I was saying that valve fucked up their one shot at reducing cheating, and instead handled this situation poorly

All I've got to say is this:

Most people who idled did so because the item drop system is flawed in that it is based on the time played, is random, and has nothing to do with how good you are.

Most people who idled were the only people who knew HOW, and if everyone had the option (as in, they knew how to do it) a lot more people would have done it too.

Valve was never clear to say that idling=cheating. They could have easily said in an update "If you idle, you will lose your items on the next update" and everyone would have a fair chance to stop. But no, they decided to sneak up on idlers and take everything away.

Honestly, I don't care that I lost a couple hats. I'm just upset about losing half my items, which now makes a ton of classes that much more boring. I know a few people who lost ALL their items due to some glitch, and now they have to start all over.

Also, I felt from the beginning that the idea of HATS was a bad one. I mean, seriously, how hard is it to make a bunch of hats? Valve was just trying to distract us from being upset that the trading system isn't here yet. And instead of making more items, having class updates, or making new maps, they took all of 5minutes to make hats and a KOTH mode.

Valve decided to label everyone who idled as a cheater, and because idlers only make up a small minority, they have no say in what is right or wrong. They are ganging up on those who understand how to get what they want when a system is flawed, knowing that there will be little to no retaliation, simply because there are barely any of us.

Sincerely,
An Idler who didn't know it was considered cheating because Valve never said it was.

I'm sorry, but I must post some more. For great justice. And laughs, maybe.
To add something to the discussion: There would be way less asspained people if it wouldn't be for the halos.
