Anybody else here been somewhat successful in pretending to be a girl/guy whilst playing in any servers? I thought i had one person going the other night and tried to make him meet up with me at a beach for late night sex, but he didn't buy it.

Me too. Look for Paradox.

You know, we should really all get together on a server sometime. Racker and I are quite often always on the same server, so you guy should join us and bring some good ol' NG goodness around!

Lol, I was seriously cracking up laughing. It's a good thing that I have push-to-talk active, since if I didn't you would have just heard me laughing my arse off. Good show mate.

Had loads of fun today, no hats, and one fine story to tell you:
KotH Sawmill, 2 vs 2, everybody was a scout.
After some time my teammate left, and l don't know exactly why but this improved my performance...
I saw raping the enemy team...first as scouts, then, since they saw that they couldn't get their victory that way, they switched (BTW we were in Overtime and l was capping the point while they were rushing) to soldier, but they still failed...one of them switched to heavy while the other got back to scout, l still killed them (bless the pistol).
As a final resort, after killing them many many times, one of them switched to pyro and, with 20 health left l was burned...
After that one of my enemies told me that l was very good (TBH l am an average scout in most cases), but the other one, after winning, said "owned".
Uhm, l dunno, that doesen't sound like ownage, amirite?

Anyway there is also a small problem that's been bugging me...my ubersaw liquid...well, instead of being RED or BLU is.....white.
Maybe the Medic now also castrates enemy players?
Is it the same for everyone or a problem on my ubersaw?
I tried equiping another ubersaw, but the problem still occurs.
Help pls?

Simple answer yes.

Longer answer, I think it's a bug that came with the latest update.

I was playing on a modded server the other day that gave you fun little surprises whenever you killed an enemy. Some good, some bad.

For example, a random traffic cone falling on your head.

Also, I accepted all of your invites. Thanks for being so welcoming. ;)

Short answer: Yes.
Long Answer: The Medic now works shifts at the local Sperm bank.

That wasn't Opeio's Super Fantastic Dynamic Server Emporium by any chance was it? That's pretty fun, you can get some awesome stuff there. Worst thing is when you're on defense, nearly your whole team was wiped out by an Uber, but you saved it. But then a Scout comes along and just as he nears the point he gets 'instant kill'...

Something about an update prevented me from playing on servers, most of them being dedicated ones.

Looks like they altered the water particle effects or something.

Finally got invited to a clan that wants more fun in a game than serious business. Not some giant, 10000+ members in it group, but a small group of skilled people who you actually want to work with. It's like the opposite of a pro gaming team, but it could still kick your ass in ways you have never imagined before.

Yeah, I like small fun Clans with unique people like that...by the way, has anyone heard of TrU Servers before?

Yeah, my clan used to be like that... now there's about 50 gazillion people in it since Josh (the admin) seems to have a fetish for that 'invite' button. Plus I'm pretty sure there are people wearing the 'random pub guy' tag just because they can, rather than because they actually are part of the clan.

I have heard of TrU before... can't remember where though... it might even have been Greenfrost6's page...

Anyway, if all 4 of us (You, SMS, Greenfrost6 and me) are online at the same time, we really should get together for a game.

I'm online now, I'm about to start playing, connect to the server I join through Steam.

And yeah, you probably have heard of TrU through my Steam profile. One day they asked me to join and I was like: 'Sure. Why not'.

Lol. The trouble was that some members of our team just didn't know how to play payload very well. It didn't really help that no-one seemed to want to stick to a particular class. But that last Badwater we played on was fun, as blu we had three medics (me, and two others) and we each had an ubercharge by the start of the map. The awesome thing was that instead of all loosing them at once, we staggered them, so red had no chance.

Try making a fun server, use custom maps, use funny maps every now and then, play a lowgrav round, play a melee only round, allow micspam (as long as it's actual music and properly converted), don let it be SRS BSNSS, have plenty of fun admins.

I have a spare dell with 1GB of ram and a 1.9Ghz Athlon x2 in it. That would seem powerful enough for a server, and I'd be interested in learning how to set one up, so we can get our TF2 fight nights back.

I've also been thinking about making a dedicated server, looked at some online tutorials and it seems like a simple thing to do. I've got like 3-4 unused desktops so it would be nice to put one of them to some use.

Watch, as Professor Rac explains his students 'hip' language on the internet:

At 8/19/09 09:02 AM, Racoonmario wrote: >competitive gameplay

As you can see, I've put the '>' sign before competitive gameplay. This means as much as 'Fuck competitive gameplay' or, in a more literal sense, 'I am bigger than competitive gameplay'. The use of the '>' sign is to show that one does not like/not endorse/hate the activity/fact stated after the '>' sign.
Class dismissed.

here's a tutorial I found of how to make a dedicated server
I decided to just make this server on my computer, and if it doesn't work, I could always delete it. As far as I can tell, servers don't require too much to run them.
Right now, I'm stuck at the .bat file part
