I want a demoman update, but I don't see what they can improve. The pipe bombs do upto 130 damage without crit (this is enough to one hit the low health classes if they have full health) and isn't that hard to aim, plus it's great for fucking up a defence without getting harmed (4 quick bombs into an alcove = dead everything). The sticky bombs are just deadly.. they do 70-150 damage if right next to an enemy, though the splash is great too, and you can quickly fire 2-3 to blow anything to smithereens. If critical, one sticky will kill a heavy with his 300 health - if not crit, 2-4 are needed but since the heavy is slow it's not that hard to set traps up for them. The demoman is a better defence than an engineer, you can just hide round a corner with stickies on the edge where the enemy can't see them, as soon as they appear, boom instant kills. Plus of course demoman is the best anti-engineer for he doesn't need to get in close, or even in front of, a sentry. 3 stickies will destroy any level of sentry, plus the surrounding dispenser, teleporter and any nearby enemies!

I already have one thanks lol.

I think the demonan needs a new secondary weapon. Thats about all they can do.
Also, the engies need something...I feel that the power of the sentry is too great and the engie is too weak. Need something to balance it out, idk.

They should give every class an arch enemy class, like spy vs sniper. That would be pretty cool to look forward to every once in awhile, and would keep everyone busy =D

Well, all this is true, but have you noticed that demos that top the scoreboard (or even in the top 3) are VERY rare?
So rare that l can still remember the name of 2 very good demomen....
THey could implement a lot of new stuff like mines (you have to step on them, they detonate upon impact but you can't remote-detonate them), incendiary grenades (why not?), dynamite (l know it was the original demo weapon, but it might be a good idea...there was this server where each class had its own special nade and the demo had the TNT...it was so awesome!), WINBOMBS (lol), bouncy grenades (they need to bounce off something to explode but in exchange they deal more damage) and maybe even, you know, normal grenades.

I don't think there will be a replacement for the bottle though (which is a shame, but what can you do?VALVe decided to put 2 secondary unlockables)

In the servers I use I always chat with voice chat and typing, we once made a BIG Pyro Rush, like 7 or 8 people in our team and we all were Pyros.
Epicest stuff ever.
Also had a heavy rush as well.

In Arena Ravine I did so well, so it was just me left, the other people were all dead, (well I think there was a Medic or demoman but he died when the point was open,) so the point opened, the other team were pretty much taking it, so as a Pyro I stormed in and killed a heavy, managed to get around and kill another Pyro, then there was one more person left who had low health, and I had low health as well and he was on fire, so I went around this rock and managed to burn him and I won the game for my team.

It was so awesome.

That's true :/ I consider myself a pretty good demo but I'm always in the middle of the scoreboard. The top is reserved for snipers, spies, medics and half-decent heavies. I don't mind score though, which is good because only time I'm up there is if I'm a medic or a do exceptional. With demo, I tend to stick to the grenade launcher most of the time and if I'm having a good day I'll hit 75%+ of my shots, which is super fun, because I like to see people explode. One of my best moments (as in, it kicked ass) was on gold rush or something, a heavy and medic came out of a tunnel and I shot 3 grenades.. 2 hit the heavy and killed him, the other went into the tunnel, as did the medic as his heavy died, so they both died. Then I saw a flicker of an invisible spy and shot in mid-air towards a raised platform which hit the invisible spy just as he was jumping down XD Anyway.. grenades would be interesting but apparantly they were fucking annoying in Team Fortress Classic, so I don't know. If only one class had them, it would definitely be interesting..

I always heal a sniper if I see him, for a few seconds for the chance of an assist ;p I usually run off to the front line after that though. On 2fort a while ago as a medic I was healing a sniper because my team was doing well at catching the intelligence and stopping them capturing ours, and this sniper was doing a fantastic job. I got 20 assists without him dieing, plus about 5 kills of scouts and spies with my blutsauger. That was fun, though he kept failing when I gave him kritz ;(

The 350 doesn't get an update because Microhard are busy focusing on the 360 update with valve
(Not funny I know, but I couldn't resist)

Anyway, if you hate demomen who use stickies BE LESS PREDICTABLE, seriously the whole thing relies on knowing where you'll be when the sticky can be detonated. Or go sniper/spy/scout.

The engy needs a Ultimate defensive weapon, maybe a pistol replacement that turns a corpse into a robotic zombie thing that has fifty health and that has a melee attack? I should watch less terminator :(

Considering how valve, when making new weapons for updates, takes into account the strengths and weaknesses of the weapons and then flips them. So basically if you want to guess what the demoman's new weapon is going to be then all you have to do is look at his strengths and weaknesses and flip them.

Hard to handle but does great damage? Well then lets give him an easier weapon to use with, lets say, more accuracy but we'll nerf its strength!

It would help demomen get their stuff where they wanted it without actually having to plot out the arc etc. problem is that its going to do less damage (scouts and spies might survive the blast!) so close encounters where normal demomen exceed in taking out fools with easy swipes, might have a bit more trouble.

Anyway that what I predict they're going to do with the grenade launcher. We'll see.

So....a bit slow, no easy-to-handle, straight shooting weapons, drunk as hell, can deal massive damage, good at demolition (doh!), good at spawn camping and sticky spam.

I think you've probably got the right idea. Possibly something like a remote detonated rocket, which is weaker but easier to aim as the primary.

Also, I like the TNT idea as a replacement for the sticky bombs - perhaps you can throw one at a time, but they have a larger blast radius and they have a fuse, but obviously they can't be destroyed. Also, perhaps as a bonus, they explode even more violently and immediately if lit on fire - could be good as an anti-pyro device.

As for the melee, perhaps he can drink whatever kind of alcohol is in his bottle. This would obviously remove any close-quarters-combat ability, but give him some sort of boost? Double attack strength, etc?

Just a few ideas... Another alternative would be a better mid-close range weapon, since the standard weapon is woefully inadequate as we all know.

Why does the Demo have Depth Perception? He can obviously see enemies in the distance and can work in 3D Space, but has only one good eye...

Also, 20 minutes on plr_Pipeline round 2 is no fun. Just goes on and on and on...

I dunno...l can work fine in a 3d space even when l cover one of my eyes...maybe his field of vision should be smaller, but then the pyro's vision should be blurred as hell since he is wearing a gas mask..


Also, 20 minutes on plr_Pipeline round 2 is no fun. Just goes on and on and on...

That happens way too often :P Then it usually ends when one team is spending all their efforts trying to defend the tunnel and enemy spies+scouts will come through the back and end it before they even realise. Pisses me off when it happens to me at least ;)
