Flash career oportunities? 2008-01-15 20:40:51 Reply

Are there many jobs I can get from using Flash? I was just wondering because i'd say my skills are above average for my age and they can only get better in time...and I will really like to have a job animating in flash.

Is there a lot of money to be made making mini-cartoons for certain websites or something?

I've been wondering about these things for a while, and i'd appreciate some feedback. Tnx :3

I guess there's a high demand for games, that sucks for me because i'm pretty sure i'll never learn how to make one. Thanks for that though.

"Above average for my age"? I'm not even gonna comment on that.

There's loads though, I don't know how you haven't noticed since you learn all shit about careers at 14 n 15.
Here's some random examples

Here's a few more

Really decent jobs if you're good with actionscript and web design.

There are actually. Someone has to make those "Win a free iPod" ads don't they? Check out Monster.com for some job oportunities. However, most of those jobs require a Bachelor's Degree or higher. Better do well in school. :D

I don't think I was being that stuck up? I didn't say "IM AWESOME AT FLASH N BETTAR THAN U" and most kids at my age barely even know what the hell flash is.

I learned nothing about flash careers, brah.

Here's some random examples

Thankies.

animation no, games yes

is there money in flash no, not out side the internet

animation is a very expensive and time consuming process, no small business can afford it, lets just say for most small business $300 is not of there price range for anything. most dont have websites or logos in that matter.

and if there is work available it is only a one week contract or something.

most work in flash is done for interactive banner ads.

games are different, websites will pay for games, this is because of the replay value of the games, theses websites make money off ads and these websites mostly have no up keep of any sort so most of the money made from the sites ads are used to pay for more games so the owner can keep there full time job and make a little bit of spending money this and there.

in animation you could make a series then sell t-shirts and coffee mugs like home star runner did, or if you make alot of series of sorts you can do like ice-box did and charge a pay to watch fee. The most common way to get money from a animation hubby is just to get donations or enter contest.
