Wow....yesterday at pizza hut was very interesting.
(Minor note, my title wasn't long enough, its really "50 pizzas, a pissed customer, and a delivery boy in jail).
On that afternoon, I've noticed that I had to fold a ton of boxes because of a huge order of 50 pizzas. That manager was stressed out my making the pizzas with all the other cooks with him. But of course its for the customer so I decided to fold those damn boxes like my life. We made 50 large hand toss pepperoni pizzas, our delivery driver went ahead to send it to the customers house.
The phone rang after that so I went ahead and grab the phone to make an order. It turns out that the customer didn't want to make an order, instead she wants to know if "Deon" was in the building. "Ok, just one moment" I said as I put her on hold. I looked around(I don't know all of the employees that work here) and there was no Deon. So I picked up the phone and said to the customer,"Deon does not work here, are you sure you got the right pizza hut?" The customer said that the number she dialed came to this phone. I looked at the other pizza hut numbers know that there isn't one for it. "Sorry madam, there is no number for that store." Then the customer said, "What about this number?" I looked, "Nope, no pizza hut with that number either, you want to speak with the manager?" The customer agreed and I put her on hold. However though she hanged up before the manager got there and I figured it was a prank call. The phone ring after my thought and it was that same customer, but pissed! "
I dialed the same number and it came up at your store, DON'T make me call the police!" I handed the phone to the manager straight away. As I was still thinking about that damn lady who tried to call the police over this stupid phone number, the guy came back with those 50 pizzas. Turns out it wasn't due to next week. Alot of people who worked here were mad now.
Later that night I got another phone call with this chick saying is Tom around. I know him, he is the delivery driver. So I asked if he is in here and they said no, so then I went back saying that he is on a delivery. Then she said,"You must have misunderstood me, I'm his girlfriend and he text me that he is in jail because he got pulled over and had a warrant." "Are you serious?" I asked calmly. "Yes, I am..." I froze for a second or two. "Please hold." I got the manager and asked how long was Tom out. He said a little over a half an our ago. "Get the phone on hold right now. Tom is in jail!" I directed. Turns out it wasn't a joke, he was really in jail and that pizza was never delivered(the customer who ordered that pizza called and said he never got it). That officer must have took the pizza.
So, working at Pizza Hut for about 3 months now, and I must say on that day, interesting.
