When Mahmoud and friends go on about "LET'S NUKE ISRAEL FOR ALLAH YEEHAW!!".

Do they realize that using 300 megatons of nuclear warheads in that area (plus Israel's likey returning of the favor before they die out) will pose serious problems. (Regardless which way the wind is blowing)

*Hiroshima was only 20 kilotons or so... into the 1990's (50 years later) people were STILL dying of radiation sickness. (although new cases were not nearly as high as in the 50's, 60's, and 70's)

*Tsar Bomba. A 50 megaton ton deployed by the Russians in the middle of some desolate island in the Bering Sea or whatnot supposedly caused Earthquake's in California, gave fallout all the way to Philadelphia, and fucked over a good portion of Siberia. (Look at the Bering Sea's location if you don't know where it is. And when I say Philly I mean the U.S. of A's philly)

*Now seeing as these 'radical muslims' will likely not bother to count the tons... I'll estimate a good 400 megatons all combined...

So unless Mahmoud has been secretly building massive oribiting power gathering and mining/manufacturing facilities across the asteroid belt and around Jupiter, and the Earth, along with huge farming colonies on the Moon... he can kiss his ass goodbye. And if it all blows EAST then CHINA, North Korea, Vietnam... (Russia *rolls eyes*), Japan, and India will have something to say about it....

there is no way Iran could scrape together 400 megatonnes. I think you underestimate the sheer size of the tsar bomb - Russia scrapped it because it was too big and deemed "unnecessary"
