For a film many Simpsons fans have waited a decade for, it was unoriginal, tacky and the few bits that could be considered amusing were whored up in marketing. True to the newer episodes, the celebrity guests appearances were uninspired, the scenes with popular secondary characters including the Comic Book Guy provided no laughs and there were stolen or old gags. Not to mention the environmentalist undertones were poorly latched on and forgotten. Lame plot, lame jokes, lame film.

i second that, i thought it was funny,
what did annoy me however was that they used all the funny bits in the advertising....

Well I don't know those specific episodes, but out of the ones I've seen, which are quite a few, it's superior in many aspects.

The one with Hank Scorpio, and the one with Frank Grimes. The movie is in no way superior to either of those, or the vast majority of episodes before season 11-ish.

Please, why don't you give us a GOOD show in your opinion? The Simpsons is always fun to watch - most people here know they'll keep it on if they're channel surfing.

The Simpsons movie was alright.
There was no re-used jokes or anything.
It made me giggle here & there

I think people were looking forward to this movie and were all psyched, then they saw it and it was just like watching a normal episode at their house. It was still pretty funny but nothing special.
Benders big score completely raped the Simpsons Movie. Did Principal skinner even speak? Holy Ass Eggs.

Which is kind of funny

Yeah, same here
I actually have a few mixed thoughts on the Simpsons in general.
A year ago I was a retarded 12 year old that found the most pathetic things funny. Back then I thought that all the new episodes were WAY superior to the older ones. I also thought Family Guy was good. After reading some peoples oppinions about the older episodes, I went back and watched them... and I loved them. The jokes were much more original and thought out, as well as being very subtle, which I like very much.
The Simpsons Movie came around and I thought it was O.K., my bro thought it was awesome and my friend thought it "Wasn't that good".
Also, after watching the classic episodes, I found I didn't want to watch the newer ones anymore. They became "eh". Thats the best I can describe it. Thats the best the newer episodes will get.
However I think the reason for this dumbing down is because of Family Guy. That show is so immature and pathetic that its anything short of a miracle its popular. With the threat of going down, The Simsons had to match "What the audience wants". That happens to be one irrelevant joke after another.
Any how, my two cents on the topic.
I had a home secure and dank, 'Til salt got flushed down the septic tank
Now I'll no longer make romance, But you can still get in my pants.
