Liljim has updated some of the limits to enhance the NG experience!

As you may know, users have the option to keep a list of their favorite authors AND favorite submissions. Each of these lists have been expanded to 50 entries, so you can now store your 50 favorite submissions, and 50 favorite authors! Take it to the limit!

The Audio Portal filesize upload limit has also been raised from two megs to four, so authors can submit much more high quality / lengthy submissions. We hope to see more kickass full-length songs, but just remember, it has to be your own original work!

Finally, we are in the process of adding some additional servers. We plan to continue to add more, along with another big bandwidth upgrade (50% more capacity) before Christmas if all goes well.

Also, I was prevented from uploading some audio to the AP before because of its file size, so good move there.

That's probably because:
-you've submitted just a sound effect and NOT Music.
-or the submission is not your own work.
-or the volume is way too low (Causes your ears to EXPLODE when listening to a different song later wich has normalized volume, you know what I mean)

or maybe there was something different that was not good...

That's pretty sweet... at the same time, I'm with lightning in that I'm not sure I'm going to be able to order my list and decide what goes into it as simply as before... but then again, no one ever said you had to use the max! With 10, it was pretty much the standard to use 'em all.

With 50, on the other hand... eh... I might just keep a top 20, or 25. Don't feel the need to use all 50 spots... now, at least. #;-}>

Hey, one request, Tom/liljim:

can numbers (1. 2. 3. etc, just like in the fave animations list) be added to the fave authors list? It was okay when there were only 10, but if you've got 50 authors and none of them have any numbers in front of them, it'll be hard to tell where you are in the list from the dropdown menu in your profile...

Unfortunately, the solution you thought would fix everything up for PCs and Macs did not - it caused more harm than it did good. I've a workaround with another solution, though it's client-side based and I'm as yet not ready to release it. I'll contact you at some point tomorrow to check whether the fix I apply works for you.

Its good that you expanded it.
Although i dont use favorites and i dont use the audio portal, im sure alot of users appreciate it. On a side note, if u plan any other expansions, please consider upping the size of sig pigs to 45k or over. That would really help the ssm. Thnx.

50s a tad overboard me thinks, but probably just good foresight. If the cap were set to 20, it would fill up, people would pester for more, then more work for Jim, etc.

The change that is NOT mentioned I have to say I absolutely love. It's impossible to vote for something until it loads. =)

The only downside to that is the occasional sketchy uploads that we can never get to load. Oh well, if it parks under judgement for a week maybe the author will get a clue it's not working right lol

We're kicking it around in WI/HT right now. The consensus is that there's something on the index page that is causing occasional conflicts in or with flash.ocx that started today. What specifically is causing it remains to be seen, but I've finally gotten motivated to try and track it down. Personally, I think it's a pop-up or ad banner, as that most readily explains the "occasional conflicts" ... every time you get it, it crashes IE, but you only get it occasionally, so you only crash occasionally. I've yet to force a crash on Netscape, so use that or another browser in the interim if IE dying now and again is too much hassle for you.
