Because you have a bad short-term memory.
So, let me get this straight. Unless it's to do with the middle east (or sometimes celeb scandal but that happens everywhere) I never hear the US mentioned
First of all, nope.
I get BBC world news on satellite TV. I'd say that at least 50% of the coverage is based on the US, or something the US is doing.
Plus, you just admitted that British media is focusing their attention on the US presidential campaigning.
yet we're obsessed with it so we can ignore our own problems and focus on yours.......yeah totally.
Yes, totally.
I think you just like the insane idea that the rest of the world is looking at you!
I'm accustomed to the fact that the world pays a whole hell of a lot of their attention on the US, and countries like the UK do it so much it's almost ridiculous. Then you look at the way they cover it, it's obvious they are specifically trying to cover the US negatively.
Hey, there was a news report today about a fire, OMG THE MEDIA IS OBSESSED WITH FIRE!!
Hey, there was a news report about fire 10 times a day and fire is covered more than any other subject, the media must be obsessed with fire.
I'm not sure because I heard nothing about Bush getting it again till I came.....here.
LOL either you don't watch the News or you watch only local news.
If you actually deny the fact that the 2004 elections were HEAVILY covered by British media then you're either isolated from mainstream British media, you forgot, or you're being dishonest.
And I got to see all the wonderful "Bush is dumb" topics. If Bush is so stupid what does that tell you about the voters? lol
If British people suggest Americans are stupid even though Americans have higher educational attainment, better universities, what does that tell you about British media and British views of the America, and the world?
I'll answer that for you; it shows that British society is obsessed with ragging on the US, and British media presents a view of America in an intentionally tainted way to divert attention away from the fact that their own problems are way, way worse. It shows that it also seeks to use tainted media with regards to the US to fortify unfounded feelings of superiority to help sway the influence of American culture and to help British people cope with the UK/Britain's dependence on the US.
Yay, Obama won. Let's thank his supporters:
-The compliant mainstream media for their pro-Obama propaganda.
-Black Panthers for their intimidation of voters.

This was a nice trap; i'm so sick of americans... that could be the end of it.
One could argue that unless one hates America because they just hate it always and forever, it is better for them to try and make changes in the country that they think are necessary then to leave to a place that they think is better than the country that they hate.
But this argument is not unfounded; it's not saying;
- if you hate America, you have to leave.
it's saying...
- if you hate America, why don't you leave?
One is an assertion or in the words of obiwan kenobi; an 'Absolute' [if you are not with me, you are my enemy] , the other one is an application of logic. It's like saying 'if your hand is burning why don't you take your hand out of the boiling pot?'\
Logic; not an absolute.
However, those that say 'people who hate america should be kicked out' ARE infact using absolutes...
It's a thin line by words, but there is a big difference; since words carry a heavy meaning.

I get BBC world news on satellite TV. I'd say that at least 50% of the coverage is based on the US, or something the US is doing.
That's great but I don't watch the BBC, I watch Sky. The only thing I watch on the BBC channels is Top Gear and that's finished till next season. I don't watch the BBC anymore because they're lying, theiving bastards who employ psychopathic muderers lol, that was really funny when I watched it.
Plus, you just admitted that British media is focusing their attention on the US presidential campaigning.
Which is what I find weird.
yet we're obsessed with it so we can ignore our own problems and focus on yours.......yeah totally.Yes, totally.
I think your patriotism and your love for ones self have banded together....seek help.

Yes, I watch Al Gore talking about the environment just once and I'm starting to regret it.
Hey, there was a news report today about a fire, OMG THE MEDIA IS OBSESSED WITH FIRE!!Hey, there was a news report about fire 10 times a day and fire is covered more than any other subject, the media must be obsessed with fire.
No, not really. This one was only broadcast because a kid died in it. I remember when the glue factory burned down. That was funny. MULTIPLE CAMERA ANGLES!
I'm not sure because I heard nothing about Bush getting it again till I came.....here.LOL either you don't watch the News or you watch only local news.
Yes, Sky news, and sometimes local. Well, more local now because my towns been busy. I actually found a funny story about it, but this isn't the time or the place.
If you actually deny the fact that the 2004 elections were HEAVILY covered by British media then you're either isolated from mainstream British media, you forgot, or you're being dishonest.
The first two, maybe. But why would I be dishonest? You live thousands of miles away why would I need to lie?
Maybe it could be because I was 15 lol
And I got to see all the wonderful "Bush is dumb" topics. If Bush is so stupid what does that tell you about the voters? lolIf British people suggest Americans are stupid even though Americans have higher educational attainment, better universities, what does that tell you about British media and British views of the America, and the world?
It was a joke and I was referring to the Americans. We look at George Bush as....quite a funny guy for some reason.
I see....let me save us both the effort and I'll make that one a quick responce:
HA HA HA HA HA HA HA You have got to be fuckng joking.
Do you know how much of America I hear about? Vertually none other than the recent news and right here! On this AMERICAN WEBSITE! Talking about America! Which is why I find it weird that sky news would broadcast the elections because none of us here care.
Maybe you have this idea that we're obsessed about the US is possibly due to the iraq war, the middle east, terrorism etc.
I cannot for the fucking life of me understand how new broadcastors would sit there and say "Hey, our carbon emissions have increased over the last 3 years, but don't worry because a bus has accidentally crashed in Arizona LETS TALK ABOUT THAT!"
No, I'm sorry. I just can't see that happening.
But...I do remember Tony Blair and Gordon Brown being on the news A HELL of a lot when Blair was voted out of office. And Gordon wanted to spend 70 billion to replace the trident system or something like that.
HA! I have a great memory.
Now, it's late, I'm quite drunk and I'm going to bed.

That is completely unfair for a few reasons:
One, your elections are important to us as you are our number one trading partner and we personally care about our economy.
Two, your elections take more than a YEAR to get through all the campaigns and we get American TV up here, it is hard not to notice it.
Three, our elections take about a month including campaigning. Our politicians are direct and don't waste our time. They don't need to much time to tell us what they believe because it doesn't take as long without all the mudslinging (though we, like all democratic countries, have some mudslinging). Also, in our voting system, party leader is decided by the party and he/she is who runs for PM, but we have 4 federal parties to make up for that. This means that we have one voting day without the mess with the primaries.
As such, it doesn't take much following to understand and figure out your vote for Canadian politics.

Technically they are supposed to do it, one of the reasons freedom of speech is beneficial is it allows for individuals to bring to attention to problems in the country that need fixing.
It's when individuals create incredibly exaggerated claims based on false evidence and twisted information to make negative comments about the government that people on 1 side become impassioned with anger and people on the other moan about the annoying aftertaste of FOP

You wanna know what I hate. Ignorance. Which is what the OP has just stated he is. Ignorant. So, I hate him.
^ This is how American's portray their opinion with freedom. I am an American, therefore I can say what I want, without being penalized for it. I agree that the fact that we can still speak is relevent to our freedom, however limited it is now. I hate the Bush Administration to the core. But I love the flag. I love the patriotic songs, The Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard, Auxiallry Forces, and our Militiamen. Because they're just as American as I am. We have our opinion and we state it when we feel its right to do so. For you to tell us to go home because we disagree, is strictly an infringement of our right to speak, and the phrase "Its our Flag, Love it or Leave it", Is very Un-American, and It personally offends me. Political Correctness is for sissies and idiots, and to sway from political correctness, You sir, are an obnoxious cur, and you deserved to be slapped for that offending post. See? I just stated my opinion. Is that bad of me? No. Most people would either agree or disagree. Thats their choice. Thats another freedom we have. Freedom of Choice. We had the choice to ignore you, and we didn't, because we feel that you've made a post that strikes some people's hearts a bit. So they replied, just like I have. For us being American and disagreeing on views, and you stating that the people who "Hate" This country Should leave, It appears you prefer a Dictatorship.
TL;DR- stop being a whining pussy dictator and just accept that Democracy was, is and always will be full of people who disagree with one another. Fag. =D

If you hate the country of your birth because of its culture, system, etc. You're not always going to just
say "Fuck you guys I'm leaving". Many in fact, (like in the 1960's counterculture movement) STAY but
fight for what they believe. When you say you hate America, you say you hate some ASPECT of it or another.
Not neccesarily the entity "United States Of America" itself.
And the whole "love it or leave it" is just a conservative's excuse to say that their version of the system is better than yours and that they'd like to "Get rid of you".

To me, this just sounds like even more bitching and whining from a country that lost all its power through foolish treaties and abusing its citizens over 60 years ago (looking at you FRANCE and BRITAIN).
You say you hate America and love Britain... thats pretty funny considering over half the world still sings songs of hatred for Britain.
Anyone who has a problem with America dominating the Sat. Network Television is really stupid. We invented it, we thought it up, we put it into space, we'll do w/e the fuck we want with it.

52 dead is not enough to compare how you didn't lift a finger for us when 3,000 people died and we lost the two largest buildings in our largest city. You lost some trains and a bus. You can't compare that to this.
I'm talking on a 9/11 scale. Even with all the bullshit we get from you about everything we do, we would be right behind you if you really needed us. You can count on us, but we're never going to count on you, so show some humility and accept that we, the USA, are your superior.

Let me refine my statement, since you feel that you must argue technicalities. We'd be helping if something on the scale of 9/11 happened to you. Think if three planes flew into Canary Wharf, not if a handful of men blew up some trains and a bus. When I said that, I was replying to someone talking about 9/11.
52 people, LOL. That's one more person than there was on just one of the planes (not including the hijackers) that flew into the WTC.
Also, fuck off. You've got nothing over me.
