It is possible to hypnotize anyone but it isn't possible to hypnotize anyone against their will. My dad's a psychiatrist and will hence very rarely hypnotize his patients as a means of treatment. He only rarely hypnotizes people because of the associated moral and ethical issues and because in the majority of cases there are much more effective methods of treatment.

i remember hearing about a con-man in the U.s that became mute, wen't to a "healer" and told the guy that only he could heal himself because he "had a resistance to suggestion" he got hypnotised, and he could speak again.
