The Sugar Hill Gang? Who?

I know it's random, but I just need some people who might remember. I can't find a single person in my life who knows or has heard of the Sugar Hill Gang from any other source other than me.. it's the weirdest thing ever!

They started back in 1979 with their single "Rapper's Delight". This was considered one of the very first hip-hop songs. I hear this along with others like "Jump on it" all the time in movies and t.v. shows. You've heard it before, I know you have!

Has ANYONE heard of or listen to/ is a fan of/ hates/ is The Sugar Hill Gang? And don't give me that "no one cares, loser" crap or I will hunt you down!...................................

It wasnt one of the first hip-hop songs. They wernt even rappers, they just took a ton of lyrics from other rappers and combined it into one song. Catchy tho.

they sampled the song apache from the shadows, which also has a lot of covers, with the most recognizable being from the incredible bongo band

They gave a performance at my college in the Spring. It was pretty legit. Everybody had a pretty good time. Anyways, it seemed like every middle school dance across the nation played Apache, so most of the people in crowd at least new that one.
