well, perhaps people hate america because our president has lied to the world continuously, bombed the hell out of a country for no reason (saddam had no WMD and had no links to 9/11. hanz blix and bush have said so themselves (blix about the weapons, bush about the link), doesn't give a flying fuck about the rest of the world, ignores the constitution, racistly infringes on the rights of arabs, and basicly made life a whole lot worse for everyone and doesn't care. but hey, if you've got another reason for hating america more power to ya.

personally, i only hate the current administration. they're also the reason i STAY in america. i'd rather not move only to find that the US has declared war on whatever country i'm in 'in the intrest of national security'

Well, maybe the most prominant reason for why Arabic countries absolutely despise the United-States is because they're pro-Israeli. Now, we all know that there's a big conflict between Palestine and Israel. Palestine is an Arabian country, and Israel is not. So, by using common sense, americans are pro-Israeli, thus making them disliked by Palestine. And Palestine is an Arabian country, thus making other Arabian countries dislike americans.

Yeah it also might have something to do with the fact that we helped to create the state of Isreal following WW2. They still aren't to happy about that. Oh and the fact that Isreal was able to beat them all back (many of the middle eastern countries) with freely given US weapons. Hell I would hate us too.

Actually, when more capitalist measures were applied, it really helped Russia, even though it was only a temporary measure. There was a name for it but I forget and I'm too lazy to look it up.

actually, commmunism in russia fell because of a combination of things, not just one man's policy. true gorbachev's glasnost helped it along, but you are ignoring all the trouble that was brewing in the sattelite nations (think prague spring, solidarity in poland, velvet revolution in hungary) man people are way to simplistic nowadays *sigh*

Yeah. It's a hell hole. Everyone's starving and most of the countries are full of constantly fighting warlords. The only exceptions that come to mind offhand are South Africa, Egypt, and probably a couple other exceptions.

I am simply appualed, as a highly educated and political American citizen, I think that everyone hates America because of two main reasons: it's economic success, it's policy of defending freedom worldwide. The Iraq war in my opinion is completely justified, anyone who knew half of the things that Saddam did to his citizens would agree with me, America did NOT "bomb the hell out of Iraq", we hardly bombed it at all! I also think that people judge Americans too much, just because our leaders may believe in imperialism and global policing, that doesn't mean that all Americans believe that! At least in America you can express yourself freely and disagree with the government without getting shot. People hated the Roman Empire and the British Empire when they were superpowers, and America is no different, except that it doesn't conquer nations, it liberates them. Any country that is in a great economic situation and possess a large military would do the same things that America does today.

Besides, you know who to blame for all the shit that boils up in Africa? Well, it ain't the Americans - it's the Brits, the French, the Dutch, the Portuguese, the Germans...basically, in the colonial period, the whole continent went from a mass with tribal boundaries that were tolerent of each other, to being carved up for various Empires, and this was the catalyst for the whole situation.
