I'll admit America throws its weight around in the world without really thinking about the consequences, and its really wrecking our chances of ever becoming a decent imperial power.

The United States is the greatest country in the entire world because we have the POWER and influence to invade the crap out of another country and no one else can do a damn thing about that. I think that's fine, I don't really believe that a balance of power is ever possible, and if someone is on the top goddamnit I want it to be the United States, the land whose values origionally dicated that anyone can work their way to success.. but that's extremely idealistic.

Unfortunately, our great nation, our city on a hill, is populated by a lot of dumbasses. Plus our government that flirts (or full on beds down with) imperialism isn't good enough at covering their asses and it always comes back to bite us later. *Sigh* if only people would analyze history more carefully, then maybe we could have a Pax Americana.

Correct me if i'm wrong, but you love your country because it bullies, harasses and threatens little other countries? How do you think you get the power to invade countries? i believe that countries cheat to win. there is very little fairness in real life. although it sounds like i am a staunch supporter of every military action the us has ever taken, i am not. i think that we should have the option of playing puppeteer with the rest of the world when its needed, but that we should be much more careful about it than we are and keep in mind what could happen in the future becasue of our actions today. problems only arise from our actions abroad when we don't do a good enough job cleaning up after them or cause a humanitarian catastrophe and let the blame remain on us.

I DONT like my government right now because they fuck up way too much.. if they were really smart they would have let the mossad go in and solve the bullshit in iraq way back in the gulf war therefore possibly keeping our hands cleaner... as i said before, problems arise when we are to blame for anything bad happening in a nation (when its usually our fault), so it would be much better if we could prevent that from happening by finding smarter, more covert ways of manipulating the rest of the world... through corporations maybe, but hell the globalization protesters will always get us there..

ah well. the world is never going to be a peaceful happy place as long as humans exist, so seeing as i am a human and very in tune with my drive for self preservation, i want my nation and its ideals (which we do not practice today but hey it can change) to be the ones preserved.

And now historically acurate, the founding values of the United States were that if you were white and had a penis between your legs, you could work your way to succes and when you reached success, you could enslave (and later on hire for MINIMUM wage) a few chinamen or blacks to do your dirty work. i am neither white nor male, but i still live successfully in my country which i never said was perfect, i said it was better than any other nation.. my grandparents were not white and they worked their way from shit in the bronx to be able to live comfortably.

That stretch really only feasibly occurs when most of the constituents of an area (read: about 90% or more) are of one ethnic group. I live in America and I admit that I think my country makes alot of selfish comunistic and agressive decitions and I don't like my country. I won't get to far into the 9/11 thing but I was glad it happened but I did feel really bad for all the lives lost. I prayed for the families after it happened but not once for america. I'm glad that there down.
