i've heard of people getting IP bans from newgrounds, so they can't get on newgrounds at all.

does anybody know why people get these?

for getting their account deleted, and then making many alts that get deleted.

i.e. account 1 gets deleted, account 2 is made, and breaks many rules, account 2 is deleted, and account 3, 4,5 and 6 are made which all get deleted. so, to prevent any more alts being made, they IP ban so the user can't access UNLESS they go to another location

Because the person who makes alternate accounts or keeps making them, and getting them deleted, gets an IP ban.

If they change there IP adress, they could get back on or..

If they move, they could get back on.

Not necessarily, they could just acquire another IP address, by subscribing to a separate ISP.

This is by no way condoned by Newgrounds or myself and is apparently a long and laborious process. Going to a separate location is much easier though. Trust me.

IP bans are useless in this day and age.
Most peoples IP's are dynamic and if someone got to the stage where they needed top be IP anned, i'm sure they would be willing to user a proxy.

Well, you can't get to Newgrounds thru a proxy and actually use NG. Java and Flash won't work thru proxies properly.

You can use a proxy server, so you connect your browser through another connection. Web proxys aren't worth the effort.
