Room Escape Games Fans Club!!! 2008-01-02 13:02:45

Ok, so have you ever heard of Room Escape games? Sometimes reffered to point n click games? well... I looked everywhere on the forums and realized there wasn't a club for these games!!! Room escape games are where you are suually trapped somewhere and need to get out. Like Exmortis or Escape the Phone Booth by Afro-Ninja. Some are terrifying while other are adventurous. These games offer a gigantic challenge for the online gamer and are probably the most addicting and entertaining. Some of them are HUGE and the most amazing games online period. I STRONGLY recommend trying out some I am giving links to. Well the purpose of this club is for the poinr n click game addict! Here you can discuss these games, post them, and give rankings!!

Ok, don't be overwhelemed here lol, but this is going to be a pretty big list of room escape game sI will start out with. They are probably the best ever created as well by proffesional Flash Artists. (Really)

TOP 5 BEST ROOM ESCAPE GAMES

#1 My Diamond Baby Possibly the best Room Escape Game. HARD

#2 The Doors

#3Crimson Room and Virdian Room

#4Travelouge

#5 The Quest for Ikabokem AWESOME

#6 1 Way

TOP 4 ADVENTUROUS AND LONG.

#1Mystery Of Time And Space (Deserves best award)

#2 Old Castle EXTREMLY HARD

Room Escape games don't nesecarilly involve a room you know. They can involve anything that has to do with point n clicking of the mouse. (Point n click games)

Well, there are TONS of room escape and point n click games out there. You can play a lot by searching on the web or going to lazylaces.com gamershood.com milkandcookies.com

So please, post on this thread and tell people your fav's. I really think this can be a good one. Have fun!

I recommend the Submachine games, although they get crazy-hard pretty quickly. The first one ain't that bad, though.

Alright here. I have decide to create a basic set of rules. (Oh dear god...)

RULES AND GUIDELINES

Rule 1 When talking about a game, please give a link to it if it isn't already given.

Rule 2 Socks, pants, THEN SHOES.

Rule 3 If you decide to participate in the club, please only talk about the topic at hand or start a new topic. After enough discussion, 4 or 5 logical posts, you will be added to the list.

Rule 4If the game contains harsh or horror content, please give a fair warning.

Rule 5To join the club, I need to know you want to join. Contact me or ask to join please.

Rule 6Anyone can discuss, but if you want to be added officially to the list of club members, then proceed to Rule 5

Rule 10 OBEY RULE 10

NOTE: Feel free to tell anyone about the club. The club is meant for fun and discussion purposes. If you don't want to go through the trouble of contacting me and being added Officially to the club, you don't have to. The club is open to discussion to anyone, anywhere, at anytime.
:Except For Tea Time.

Well, that is all the rules including the normal BBS rules of course. Have fun, and I hope this turns out to be a great club.

Of course you can join. See now, was it that hard? =)

:Good concept for a club, but ADD SUM RULES
or Ramagi might make another kill :(

And I sure did. Thanks for notifying me about that. We wouldn't want this thread to be locked because it didn'e have any rules now would we.

The Club is officially starting now with its own sig. For those who get into the thread, please continue making posts to keep the thread active!

It might be interesting if we could get some flash artists who MAKE such games in here. If anyone knows any active Newgrounds members like that (not just the big ones who don't have time for BBS'ing), it might be interesting to get their attention.

Flash games are fucking hard to make, and I'd guess that making something as complex as a puzzle game would be even harder...

Actually, it is not that hard to make a point n click game because everything is done with the mouse. It is hard to make a well designed and graphiced one yes. Maybe we should get together and create one... although that will be in later days.

And you are right; we do need to attract such epic point n click/ room escape game makers such as Aztec and Exmortis.

But sadly, many of the epic room escape games such as The Doors that i mentioned in my all time list are not on NG. The creators made them during the discovery of Flash. They are not very interested in going on NG. But, there is no reason that we should try.

Response to Room Escape Games Fans Club!!! 2008-01-03 18:22:26

how do you make a link its confusing on newgrounds and easier for me on other sites to make a link

Response to Room Escape Games Fans Club!!! 2008-01-03 19:31:47

Simply copy and paste the URL you want us to go to, and paste it. It should automattically become a link. Or, you type in the name of the game, highlight it, and press link on NG. Then follow the direction. =)

I'm an ameteur flash artist, but, if you can help me with the actionscript of adding an item to your inventory, I'll start a project on it :P

Btw, I'll post whenever I get a chance to and maybe start a new game as told above :3
This is a unique club idea and it's very original, this should be fun :P

I did, I never EVER quit a point n click game unless it simply isn't a good one. Which is rare. Well, here is a stragety guide to The Crimson Room.

Since there are so many people searching for the answer on how to escape the Crimson Room, I`ll summerize some clues from the Milk and Cookies forum...warning...if you want to solve the puzzle yourself don`t read further.....because there a some big spoilers here...

Play Crimson Room

Start:
There`s a ring on the thin glass plate next to the box.

Turn around and click on the pillow, below the pillow is an golden key

Lift the pillow again and click on the headboard...you'll find a metal stick...

Then turn to the curtain...and open it...there`s another key

Turn to the table and open the 2 upper drawers, in the right one is a document, in the left one is a (empty) cd box.

Then use the keys to open the 2 other drawers.
Use the silver key to open the right drawer and you`ll find an box...

Use the gold one to open the left drawer and you`ll find a powercord...

Next you click below the table and you`ll find a tape...

Then open the cd player (click the powercord and then click the cdplayer...then push the button...next: click on the cdplayer itself and it will open)..you'll find another key

Turn around and behind the bed (righthand side) is an battery, but you have to click a couple of times befor you find the right spot.

Oke, now open and close the curtain a couple of times...a ring will fall off...

At this point you should have collected 12 items

Then click on the box in the itemlist. Put the rings and the stick on the box...

Then you should be able to open the box...Put in the battery and the tape. Next: click on the yellow button...

A movie starts with a guy 'dancing' or whatever he's doing...at the end of the movie he starts pointing....put your mouse exactly on the spot he's pointing at...wait for till the movie is finished and click....a square will come up on the wall

Click on the square, a safe will show up...<STRIKE>enter the code 1994 UPDATE: this code doesn't work anymore, go to the url on the white paper(theone from the drawer)and you'll get the code by clicking on the cards on the table. Next use the key to open the safe....

When you open the safe you'll find a screwdriver...

You`ve to replay the movie, untill you`re able to pick up the screwsdriver...you could use the 'tab' key on your keyboard as well.

Then turn to the door...click on the screwdriver and start poking on the knob...
After a couple a times the knob falls off...

Click the door et voila!!

=)

all escape games you need to know.
one of my favorites is the god tower. and OMG it'sTHE HARDEST GAME EVER.
Yet another jem is Bodilis it has an absolutly beautiful story with great puzzles.
one of the scariest games is exmortis. (to play the first, read the review and it will have a link.)
although, a point and click, (like almost all other games on this list)
99 rooms is worth the play.
my favorite is
hitchhikers guide to the galaxy. you will see if you play.

there is an absolutly awsome game i forgot the name to...it's about this gut who goes to the doctor's office and you take a pill an it's freakin trippy. hope you hve fun!

America. Ghettos. Walmart. NFL. Internet. Slavery. Starbucks. Disney World. Porno. Fake tits. Sushi. Taco Bell. Rodeo. Christmas. Pop-Eye. Books. Sportsmanship. Fuck yeah.

Yeah, I will do all the actionscripting for the game no problem. I am somewhat "experienced" and can do almost any code for actionscripting in Flash/. (Of course I cAN'T DO all OF THEM, NOT EVEN HALF! tHERE ARE MANY CODES)

Jayisgames has many many games, but I do not like going there because of all the compititions and stuff like that. But yes, 99 Rooms Is one of the best games EVER. But it is more of a point n click than a room escape, and that was what my list was for. Well any way, Exmortis 1 2 and 3 are the best as well. I can't wait for 3 to come out, but it has had a large delay for someone robbed the authors laptop with the game on it. =P

Oh and as for the other question, yes, I will gladly insert the actionscripting for the games.

Still, how do you click on an object and have it convert to your inventory;or, more important, how do you combie objects, like batteries and a flashlight?

lol, i know im asking a lot, but Im just trying to dovelop sumthin :D

I do understand that it is complicated, but here, I'll give you an example: I have an item, should it be converted into a movieclip or button? after that, what about a slot which it should go after being clicked? what instance should it have?
after those, the actionscript provided should be easier. Afterall, I am good at decoding it :3
Btw, Idk how it is possible for u to insert coding into this game i'm making, srry.

I will type the coding, tell you what to do with it, you copy and paste it, and plug it in. =)

2nd of all: Ok, you should probably give the instance name item_1 item_2 item_3 and so on and so on. You should make the item "appear" in your inventory when you click on it and make it item_1. You would make it a button if I do believe.

I don't know the piece of coding this instance, but I will =)
