Hi,
I have just opened my PC case to clean out the dust (theres alot lol) and i have realised that the fan on my graphics card is not running. The heatsink around the fan is quiet hot well more than that i juess, very hot. And im kind of woried. Below is a picture of my graphics card, not the exact same but same modle. By the way it is a 8600 GT. Any advice is apreciated.
Thnx, stanni

Well if your fan was working at first it may have just broken, in this case buy a new one
if it wasnt working at first then you should of fixed it at first but you still need to get a new one probally

The fan might not always be running. Sometimes, hardware monitors the temperature and enables the fan on an as-needed basis. So, unless you were in the middle of playing a game or some other demanding process, it might not have been running because it didn't need to.
If you're still sure it's not working properly, start with checking the connectors. I also wouldn't recommend having your computer turned on and running while opening the case and messing around.

The fans only run when they need to. Not all the time.
Not to worry.
I think im missing something here..

Pry up GENTLY on the fan, till the plastic blades pop off the metal shaft. Put a dab of oil on the spindle and spin it. Put some on the back of the blades, too. Then snap the blades back on.

Haha, I should of bought that one when I had the chance, but I could get a 128mb for $2 after rebate. Also, it may be okay depending on how long since the fan stopped working(If it stopped working recently, call the company?)

Do a bar- Just kidding. How long have you been playing COD4 now? Play it for a bit and if your fan doesn't start running then you're fucked.

If it gets too hot it'll shut off by itself...so see if it does that.
