Paul is a favourite of mine because he looks alot like Catoblepas.
Doctor B (tekken 3) is a favourite of mine because he's such a challenge to handle and he farts alot.
True Ogre (tekken 3) is also a favourite of mine because he was big and he breathed fire!
Sure, my reasons are crap for why I like them but still, you have to admit that those characters were pretty damn awesome.

Smash isn't a normal fighting game.
Tekken 5 is the best conventional fighting game I've ever played. That being said, I used to be able to beat anyone when I played as Feng. Top tier, and I found him more manageable than Steve. The whole not being able to kick thing makes it hard to perform any good low attacks.
Suddenly I find that all those negative thoughts creeping around in the back of my head have been shot to the front in a blaze of unwelcomed glory.

Eddy Gordo and Christie Monteiro because their fighting style is capoeira. Yoshimitsu because there are so many cool tricks you can do with that sword.
