my flash is slow as shit

my flash is so freakin slow. the fla is about 17mb but it lagges like a whore when i add a frame (about a 25 second wait till the new frame is added) and upto 30 minutes for my flash to save. wtf!? is my flash rooted or my computer shit? someone tell me if this is fixable and if so how to fix it! thanks

Yea I have .fla's that are 150mb+. Not sure whats wrong with your problem though... Is there a virus scan running lol?

They can't really submit it to NG with this thread in excistance as you could easily contact Wade with a link to this topic and he could delete it for you.

I have to go now but, I'm sure if Cloud is still on he'll check it. I don't think Fury would have a problem checking it either.

17mb isn't a big size for a .fla... I've had one over 400 meg...

ive had almost like 100mb for some simple flash game... lawl... i almost had 400 mb tho

i don't think you need to post the .fla here. is this only happening with this one movie or every flash project? how much ram do you have? how much disk space do you have left?

I had trouble with a 40MB fla until I reinstalled windows, after that it flew through it. Proof that windows does get slower as more crap builds up. I didn't format the HDD when I reinstalled either, but it still made a big difference.

So, could be low RAM, low Disk-space. Too much rubbish running in the background etc.

Something to add: I also find that Flash 8 runs a bit quicker than CS3 if your computer is only modest, eg. 512MB Ram/2Ghz P4, something like that. So, could try switching to 8 and see if it smooths things over a bit (if you are using cs3 and obviously only if you don't need cs3's features).

I also had it lagging on a dualcore with 2 gb ram before when the virus scanner went crazy.

ok, i had a similar problem, and it was my pc, i was running on too much low virtual memory, witch rooted my flash mx 2004. but then again, i aint that good with flash, so i wouldnt know, but i was told
about all of that low virtual memory from a computer guy i know
