Pfft. You can't judge which distribution is "best" they all have different strong points. i.e ubuntu is more user friendly.

My favorite one is Ubuntu. Whenever I used any different Linux distribution, more than 80% of my computer hardware is never detected. With Ubuntu, it has even detected stuff I didn't know was there! :-)

It's a matter of opinion really, but my favirte would be OpenSUSe, it's so much lighter than the others ( most of them ) and still content-rich.
